lol westy I am not peculiar
I had had a war with my hubby
I wanted to let him off the hook
the only way to do it was get rid of the past
(believe it never happened)
so I did
but the mind wont believe anything which is not logically true
so I had to read logical proof for it first
before I could start trying to make my belief line up with it
love, totally normal palo

Well, being on the west coast, and having slept late this morn, I am a straggler coming on to the thread....
Happy 4th, of course, to one and all...we have our regular daily American Flag out front, but this morning, I took our special flag, the one the hubby had since a child, and put that one up next to the daily flag...we have an american flag windsock in the front big bush, and a big American flag bow on the front door, and a daily American flag out back...
And I have one of my dolls, all dressed up in her American Flag dress, standing next to me...
the hubby has a bear with an American Flag sweater on in the bedroom, and there is another Bear with an American Flag sweater on, in the Family Room...near my computer sits my Uncle Sam Bear, complete in his Uncle Sam suit and his top hat(This the same bear which will shortly be arriving at Palos 'cave')...
Also have American Flag mugs for our drinks...so I guess we are all set..today, the kids have been setting off their firecrackers, and tonite will be a barrage of firecrackers, and lighted fireworks...
I will be gone for a while, hubby just got up, so need to cook breakfast and talk wit him...but will return in an hour or two, to join in the festivities...
To: andysandmikesmom
I have not heard one firecracker so far
yet Happy is spendin' his whole day under my desk
he is spooked by the big wind
Lulu of course is sprawled on her back (in uncouth position)
serenely secure despite any and all loud noises
To: andysandmikesmom
rofl we have our beautiful american flag up too, bill put it out first thing
he is doing touch-up on the cave now
he is not whistlin' while he works, he is cursin' while he works
must be frustrating task
To: acnielsen guy
and then after all that I found out last month you do have two dogs too
after you posted pic of Tristam
I am back to where I started :)
To: andysandmikesmom
it seems like only you and our captain are going all out on the 4th
I wont say how our captain celebrated it
at least you celebrate it the american way
I remain stunned at the ex-pat way of celebrating independence day
The Pope was finishing his sermon. He ended it with the Latin phrase,
"Tuti Homini" - Blessed be Mankind.
A women's rights group approached the Pope the next day. They noticed that
the pope blessed all Mankind, but not Womankind. The next day, after His
sermon, the Pope concluded by saying, "Tuti Homini et Tuti Femini" - Blessed
be Mankind and Womankind.
The next day, a gay-rights group approached the Pope. They said that
they noticed that he blessed man kind and woman kind, and asked if he could
also bless gay people. The Pope said, "Sure." The next day, the Pope
concluded his sermon with, "Tuti Homini et Tuti Femini et Tuti Fruiti."
To: lodwick
rofl loddy your joke is funny
To: christine11
hi chrissie
you hangin' out on FR for the 4th too
we had storm last week but it had no moisture and just blew dust
someone told me that is called an ''arizona storm''
you still gettin' your wonderful rain?
Love, Palo

Many things happening at the Palos house...Bill is cursing rather than whistling...whenever my dad would start wallpapering or painting rooms in our house(which was often), he would drink, and drink quite heavily at times...I am surprised, considering his state at times, that things got done...
But always, while he was decorating, my mom and dad would have a big fight about some strategic point of decorating...me and my little brother hated it, when he began to do redecorating work, as we always knew, there would be some horrendous fight over the work...
How can you say that the lovely Lulu is in an uncouth position? Shes just cooling off all her 'parts'...she needs to be comfy...
To: andysandmikesmom
hi cookie
I fell asleep from the heat
bill is painting backdoor (it leads off kitchen)
the brick red paint is all used up so he is using the chocolate brown
he also had to use it for last of touch-up
he is in good mood now, maybe it was the flies which were botherin' him
I went in to help myself to cookie from my brick red kitchen, I find I do not mind it at all now, it is growin' on me
it is different lookin' cause the wood cabinets used to stand out gainst white walls, now they blend it more
Love, palo
To: palo verde
Our kitchen is also white, and I hate it...when it comes time to paint it, I am trying to decide on a new color for it...dont know if I would be brave enough to try brick red, but I am definitely going to something other than white...
The son stopped by, on his way down further south in Washington, to visit with friends, and shoot off fireworks...but it is raining right now, so hope it stops for the kids and their fireworks...tho I dare say, the fire depts are probably grateful for the early rain, to dampen things down, so it wont be so likely to set on fire..

smooch
I love my 4th of july card
it is so much fun
westy that email you forwarded to me is hysterical
rofl guess it doesnt matter that G spot doesnt exist
they have product to market which will activate it
seems it will activate few other things which dont exist
let people spend money on whatever they want
I like my dishes
but I'd love to have set of pretty new glasses
Love, Palo
To: andysandmikesmom
hi sweetie
its fun your son stopped by
the problem with white walls is they get dirty so fast
grannie's daughter suggested a light shade of cocoa for her kitchen
I'm starting to get addicted to the brick red now
but I prolly would have chosen a lighter color on my own
Love, Palo

I see by your wonderful pics, that you like Blue glass...
My dad was a blue glass lover also...he had many pieces of blue glass, sculpted pieces...he also collected every old Noxzema Jar, Milk of Magnesia bottle, and any and all old blue bottles he could get his hands on...he just loved that blue glass...
After he died, and after a time, we decided to move Mom in with us, we packed up her house....but it was loaded with so much stuff...so we thought if there was anything other family members would like, that would be the time to give it them, rather than move it all...that stuff all now belonged to mom, but she thought it would be nice to start giving up some of their stuff to family members...
My dad had shelves and shelves of blue glass...Now, I am not a great blue glass enthusiast....I knew I would keep all the sculped pieces of dads blue glass, but as for the jars and bottle, and wind chimes, and other knickknacks, I just knew those would stay in boxes, collecting dust...
So my dads sister,(my Aunt Helen), and her daughter(My cousin, Cheryl), just loved blue glass...so we gave most of those jars and bottles, and such of blue glass to them, and they were thrilled to have it...
I still have all the sculpted pieces..a blue glass boat, a footed rooster candy dish, Shirley Temple bowls and glasses, and a few other pieces...however when I finally unpacked all of moms stuff, I found I had another whole box full of old blue glass bottles and jars...so try as I could to give most of that stuff away, I still have a lot of it...
I use some of the bigger bottles to hold fresh flowers, and must admit, that those bottles sitting in the kitchen window with flowers, sure do look charming as the sun streams in....
Actually dad also collected brown glass, and for some odd reason, I am more attracted to the brown glass, than the cobalt blue glass...
Dad also like clear glass, old bottles...my prize bottle from his collection? An obviously very old clear glass bottle, used to hold Formaldehyde, for the funeral homes...
It has the word 'Formaldehyde engraved on it, and there are markings for measurement...I just love that old bottle..
You have a beautiful home, and decorate it so lovingly...
Noticed in the shot indoors, with your rocking chair, that there are a few jugs on the floor, off to the side...Are those your booze jugs?..LOL...
To: grannie9; andysandmikesmom
andysmom's eagle eye has detected your booze jugs lol
in easy reach from your rockin' chair
To: palo verde; grannie9
I always have my eyes peeled for booze...LOL...
By the way, the hubby reported back to me, that he made his special trip, and got the Palo bears sent on their way...
So sweetie, soon they will be yours, and happy in their new home...a teddy bear is never really happy, until he is loved...
To: andysandmikesmom
you are sweet andysmom
thank your hubby for me
the bears will get lotsa love
one will sleep with me, one will post with me, and the third will sit in my lap
since Lulu also sleeps in bed with me, they will have Lulu too
and waking up to Lulu is sweet
smooch
Love, Palo
