The ruling doesn't cover your state. It covers mine. BUT, San Jose Unified School District will continue to say the Pledge unless and until the US Supreme Court rules otherwise.
To: Mo1
The ninth circuit is extremely liberal and always way out there. I don't think this ruling means a darn thing, when all is said and done.
Besides, it will be overturned.

psssst! we're over here!

I wrote MSNBC and told them that Alan Keyes was making sense and they had no sense!
Fair and balanced? What a hoot that silly phrase is.....fair and balanced would be having someone with no axe to grind and would attack/debate/chide both sides of the aisle.
FNN is better than CNN....I will go back to radio before I would go to CNN for my news! I might even be a liberal leaning newspaper subscription before I'd go back to CNN!

I also heard (but haven't confirmed) that it was the 2:1 ruling of a 3 Judge pannel, not the full 9th District Court of Appeals...
To: null and void
Yes, I understand it that way too.

"A profession that we are a nation `under God' is identical, for Establishment Clause purposes, to a profession that we are a nation `under Jesus,' a nation `under Vishnu,' a nation `under Zeus,' or a nation `under no god,' because none of these professions can be neutral with respect to religion," Judge Alfred T. Goodwin wrote for the three-judge panel.
Anyone know the owner of a roofing company? Might be nice to park one of those tar trucks upwind of this guy's house, just to give him a wiff of how we feel.
(I love the smell of tar and feathers in the morning. It smells like Victory)...

Will you all please just take a Midol and calm down.
Even Nina Totenburg, the ultra liberal NPR legal reporter says this will be overturned before school starts by the 9th circuit sitting en banc.
This is just a distration from a war we need to be fighting.

It is the very core of the war we are fighting.
Our invisible friend can beat up their invisible friend...

Senate voted resolution 99-0 against, 80% polled against, "Right Wing Extreamist" Supreame Court will find some way to overturn.
To: null and void
Our invisible friend can beat up their invisible friend... The phrase aplies to their invisible friend too.
In all the history I have read, God was always on the side of the winners, whoever they happened to be.
My objection as usual is not to the substance of the phrase, but to the way it spoils the blanc verse of the original pledge. The same reason I abhor "new and improved Bibles" that are easier to understand than the King James. If there is a fair and decent God, everyone who has ever replaced a King James Bible with a modern one will be doomed to hell, and everyone involved with bastardizing the Pledge will join them.

"Right Wing Extreamist" Supreame Court will find some way to overturn. The Senate is just politicians huffing and puffing for votes.
This will never get to the Supremes. The 9th Circuit, sitting en banc will overturn it
80% of the people are not thinking, they are just reacting.

The "under God" addition to the Pledge of Allegiance is what keeps it in compliance with the First Amendment. Without it, the pledge very nearly establishes the state as a religion worthy of worship. The recognition of a God higher than the state keeps the pledge down to earth.

80% of the people are not thinking, they are just reacting Yes most likely they will overturn it .. but that is not the point
This is just another attempt of the liberal courts to take the rights of the Amercan people away from them
And THAT is why many folks are pissed off
The left has every right not to say the pledge or believe in God ..
But they DO NOT have the the right to take MY rights away or tell me what I can or cannot say or where I choose to say it

But they DO NOT have the the right to take MY rights away or tell me what I can or cannot say or where I choose to say it That is not what they said.
They said public school teachers cannot lead their classes in saying the pledge as long as the "under God" phrase is in it. They said nothing about what you or your children can do.
Smooch

The "under God" addition to the Pledge of Allegiance is what keeps it in compliance with the First Amendment. That is fine for you people who believe in one God, more or less. People who believe in none, or many, are deliberately and unconstitutionally left out

So tell me are these kids going to be suspended from school because they choose to recite it???
Think these schools won't do it .. think again
This was just another attempt but the left nit wits .. this is not the first law suit this idiot father filed .. I understand he tried to get "In God We Trust" taken of the dollar ..
He used his daughter to shove his agenda down our throats and the Liberal 9th Circuit gave him exactly what he wanted

No one is left out. The Pledge of Allegiance does not leave anyone out except people who do not care to pledge their devotion to America. "One nation under God" keeps the pledge from establishing a state religion, ala Soviet Union. Recognition of God is not a religion. Atheism is not a religion. No religion is threatened by that inclusion. All are threatened when a nation allows itself to be Supreme.
