That was very naughty! You certainly did get more than you bargained for - 3 weeks! I've been horseback through fields of poison oak, brushing up against my boots and clothing (couldn't avoid it) and I never got a single splotch. I don't deliberately expose myself to it, though. I could tell the cop thought I was pretty stupid. Oh well.

20 miles is nothing....a nice little side jaunt, really.

When I was coming back from Phoenix, I took an off road so I could go over a part of the Grand Canyon not too terribly far from Page....in the Vermillion Cliffs area. That was sure pretty....all those earthtone reds.

I was terrible that way. I hated school. It bored me, and I wasn't all that sociable either. I learned more staying at home with my books. Anyway, I used to lie in bed most mornings trying to think of how I could get out of going THAT day. Usually I didn't get away with it.

Correct first time, Catriona is my daughter.

She is the one who liased with CG and arranged my surprise.

She has just finished her first year at uni, and is home for the summer.

LOL, sweet....you would have fit in with my brothers in the disliking school department. I absolutely loved school. I wouldn't even participate in Senior Ditch Day.

Reading was such a big part of my life. And I made a point of teaching my daughters that if they could read, they could go anywhere and do anything in this world they set their mind to do.

Both girls grew up loving reading. Matter of fact, Deni, the one in Phoenix, along with her girlfriend in Montana started their own Book Club. They're working on reading a book a week. They take turns selecting the book...and at the end they spend a lot of time critiquing the story and the author's and discuss what they've come away from it with.

They would rather have DarthVader
as their sire, as he has a heart. LOL

Oh I loved learning AND reading, I just didn't like school. I was already reading before I went to school and my teachers used to give me reading assignments above my grade level to keep me from disrupting the class. By the end of 3rd grade, I'd read most of the biographies in the school library, for fun.

Swervie!! They've removed ALL your comments! You must have been saying something really bad. Why would you get so nasty about something like that?

Oh NO! Swerve just observed that there are other pitchers on the team, fans in the stands, etc. and wondered why the contest was delayed.

The last time I checked, the number of comments was approaching 160, and showed no signs of slowing down.

I found it a spirited discussion all around.

You really enjoy seeing us getting all worked upon other threads don't you? Or in Swervie's case, getting THEM all worked up?

I just pointed out that even liberal pantywaiste actors would go on with the show if the star dies and I did not think the teams or the commisioner were acting professionally to send home a stadium full of fans.
