Freeoples ....
Thread 314
There was a wonderful little place in Augusta, Georgia. It kinda had the atmosphere of a basement coffee house. Greek food is rich, but delicious. Even my ex liked it, and he doesn't like much of anything.
No kidding! I;m having an awful time trying to catch up.
Dingos?
ROTFL!
Splain to me again 'bout Ringy's tree.

"Thanks. I asked you to post this question here because it ties into many of the things that have been mentioned on this thread earlier. Jim has access to tihngs that the moderators do not. Sometimes, something will catch the eye of a moderator (a posting style) and we will ask Jim to take a deeper look. Sometimes, Jim may notice something. And then when Jim looks at the server logs, he is able to determine that one person has more than one account. He might then look at their posts, and will see one post something, then log in to a different account and reply, and then log into a third account and reply to that, and then log into yet another account or back to one of the others and reply again, essentially making one person sound like several to the forum. In this case, Jim will nuke all of their accounts. Or maybe he doesn't find that, but instead finds that the user is undoubtably someone who had been banned previously but had tried to sneak back on under a new name. Nuke city again. When an account is nuked, everything that account posted is removed, including any threads that account started. This is done to returned bannees and to the type of accounts I described above to make it so that such a person cannot steer the site's discussion in any manner. If the person can continue to persue their agenda just by coming back under a never ending series of names, that person will never give up. The idea is that by wiping everything they have ever done clean, they will realize that in the long run they are merely wasting their time. In the thread in question, it had been posted by a person who fit both descriptions. The poster had multiple accounts going on FR, and the poster was a returning bannee (he has gone through dozens and dozens of names now). When the poster was nuked, the thread vanished. Most of the time, it is not worth the effort to go back and try to weed through everything a nuke took out to salvage what was of value to the forum, particularly keeping in mind that one of the reasons people like this keep coming back is because they want to steer the discussion of the forum to the issues that they want (and as long as they can, they will keep coming back). However, if a thread has considerable discussion but was taken out by a nuke, if you bring it to our attention (as you did, Sabertooth, by asking via freepmail why the thread was gone), and we answer that it was taken out as the side effect of a nuke, if you ask us to restore the thread we may do it if we have the free time."
I was listening to that on the way home today. I still don't understand why we are letting ANYBODY from those countries even cross our borders, but at least it is something.
ROTFL!! You think he caught it from Nully??
