:-)
Besides...who watches baseball anyway...

serene, smart, steel magnoliaredundant, Darlin'. All magnolia women are serene, smart and steel in a lovely, soft sort of way.

See ya later Pup.....
Don't drown or freeze while watching all the remaining championship sports teams out there....
Gotta go finish the day of plundering and pillaging.... and as Nully suggests.....kicking furry animals. We conservatives are so mean...

Interesting stuff from the past. My father is still the same way - I think his expense books are fascinating in the way NO expense, down to a package of chewing gum, is too small to not be noted.
I'm guessing that going through the GreatDepression had a lot to do with the way he watches his nickles and dimes, and lets the dollars take care of themselves. Thanks again for our trips back in time - they are most enjoyable. JL
Oh, and props to you on the no smoke plan! I guess I'll be buried with a pack of Vantages in my pocket. Wait - I'm getting the toasted, not buried program.

Our First Lady is on her first solo trip to Europe. The silence from the press is positively deafening. Quite a contrast to the gushing, cooing, adoring coverage given Hillary's ever move on similar trips. Today some joker named Laurence McQuillan at USA Today did a story on her trip. I searched their site pretty well but I can not find an email address for Mr McQuillan. If any of you can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it very much. I would like to ask him a couple of questions. First, why quote Hillary's former Chief of Staff, a former spokesman for the Carter administration and a DNC staffer in an article ostensibly about the current First Lady's trip ? Not one person at the White House or in the First Lady's entourage was quoted in the piece. Second, would it break his jaw to call her the First Lady or Laura Bush or Mrs Bush rather than referring to as Bush ?
Laura Bush takes low-key path on trip

...they're liberals, democrats and some work in the press...
Mo, Thanks for the Heads Up. It's apparently illrelevant to the dems and to press that Bill Clinton did nothing during two terms in office. Nope, the burning question is, why didn't President Bush act in 8 short months on the threat that Clinton sat on for 8 long years.
Maybe we should all write a note, an email or call the White House to tell the President how proud we are of his courage throughout this terrible tragedy. He has been steadfast, he comforted a stunned and heartbroken nation in one of our darkest hours. Lets acknowledge the awesome burden he carrys everyday and express our gratitude for his determination and resolve. I imagine that by now he could have used a little boost anyway but after this week of stoooopid attacks from the dems and the press it would be especially appreciated

The Ratty Generation: Fumbling, Stumbling, Bumbling. Of course, they never had the training opportunities that a double feature drive-in movie provided.
Ummm, ever hear of the 'latch key' generation?? Hormone surging teenagers left at home every afternoon??
To: Mo1
"Did you just hear that SLAM Ari made about Hillary" No. What did he say?
To: Mo1
"Of course those aren't the exact was he she .. but close" Ari is a class act.

""Only Nazis, Traitors and Republicans Pollute," "Green is God" and "Recycle or Die You Right Wing Pig," Nice to see that you formed a connection with the locals. How long will you be in looney land Portland?
To: catpuppy
"they never had the training opportunities that a double feature drive-in movie provided." Catpuppy, I am stunned. Do you mean to tell me that instead of watching those double features, you were busy fumbling with the bras of your dates?
To: Darlin'
I see dumb people FOFLMAO.....

Do you mean to tell me that instead of watching those double features, you were busy fumbling with the bras of your dates? FUMBLE?, FUMBLE?
our generation did not fumble. We could, and for that matter still can, pat a woman on the back and undo a four hook bra through a heavy coat without her even noticing, and do it on the first try.
