*Can't remember anything*
He shook his head as smoke drifted off his back. He'd just taken a hit that would have killed a normal man, but he wasn't exactly normal now. He quickly scrambled out of sight, he didn't want her to see him. She was dreaming again, this time about a storm. And he had made the mistake of standing behind a tree out of her sight. And got blasted by dream lightning.
He chuckled slightly at the thought. Dream lightning. Hurt almost as much as real lightning, or so he thought. He didn't know. He'd never seen real lightning. He jumped, the dream had changed, as they do. Now it was afield of grass, and there was a horse. He dropped downward into the grass. she was the prettiest woman he'd ever seen, and he'd seen plenty. But, he'd never spoken to anyone, ever. What would anyone have to say to a dream creature like him, anyway? It wasn't like he was a real thing anyway. Right?
He heard someone cough behind him. Ooops, caught. He cringed. Abject fear raced through his.. heart, he supposed. Turning, he looked behind at her. Again, the dream had changed.
"I swear I've seen you before." He could tell she was very puzzled. Without speaking, he convinced her she'd seen him briefly at the mall, or something like that. He hated being dishonest, but how would people react if they knew they were sharing their dreams and minds with a whole entire other race?

chickie, I don't know what statist is
I just know on libertarian threads it's the worst thing you can be
they call you statist if they disagree with you
the word paleoconservative is also thrown around, I have no idea if that is good thing or bad or what it means
my hunch is some of them are ideological
but the heart of it is perfect common sense
you can't control another person, you can only control yourself
To: palo verde
you can't control another person, you can only control yourselfYou can? I have absolutely no control over myself.. none..
To: Darksheare
Darksheare, you're back
we missed you
your piece is sublime
your writing has gotten crystal clear
welcome back honey bun
love, palo

rofl rofl
wait till I am more at home on the libertarian threads
then I will invite you over
they will be so enlightened by your point of view
you're no statist
I suspect you might be a paleoconservative
To: palo verde
A Paleo is a Brigadeer, and they despise Neo-Cons, while Libertoids loathe Paleos as statists, while everyone hates moderates and RINOS ;-)lol...got the picture now? Just like a normal family ;-)
To: habs4ever
thank you habs
I didn't know any of that
well chickie is no brigadeer
what else is left
neo con? libertoid? rino
a libertoid sounds like an ET
maybe she is libertoid
rino is a curse word on FR, so she can't be rino
perhaps she is neo con whatever that is
To: habs4ever
perhaps she is a libertoid crossed with a neo con

You have it upon the truth about most libertarians, in that they are very ideological, and wear it as point of honour to exclude and denounce more than to include.I dislike the the morally superior tone, and the one size fits all prescriptions. What they lack is practicality, and that doesn't sit well with lofty principles.I share most of the same thmese as them, yet know that 50% of the electorate doesn't, so I'm not going to convince them of my superior insight. If we could get lower marginal tax rates, then I'd be happy :-)
To: habs4ever
I wonder if westy is secret statist
he has tendencies that way
To: habs4ever
when he said last night bras are hazardous to men
and to not ban them means discriminaton against men
I realized we have an underground statist in our midst
To: habs4ever
their posts are ideological
but calling for end war on drugs, end income tax, legalize prostitution and pornography
is very down to earth
To: palo verde
Even those themes are ideological, as they assume things about human nature than have never been so.There is the assumption that if hard drugs are legalized, then violence disappears as the profit motive vanishes, yet why should it?The costs get transferred into other areas, namely looking after a portion of society that can no longer function, due to drug abuse. And will these people be non-violent?? The complexity of these issues make it tough to pigeonhole into libertarian solutions.I for one, don't think all things offer a solution. That is part of being a right winger: accepting that failure is a part of life and not all things can be fixed.
To: palo verde
As you delve more into the world of right wingers, you find its more a state of mind that political persuasion. It's a temperment, a cast of mind and attitude that makes one be part of the right. To be conseravtive, as Russell Kirk pointed out, is to negate ideology. It isn't reactionary per se, as most wingnuts are the most optimistic people imaginable, it's the limits we understand about ourselves and the political process that makes being conservative a natural.Ther is a permanent human nature, and laws cannot correct that, and the individual is not a malleable being to be at the mecry of those that wish to mold and bend one's true spirit.
To: palo verde
A Neo-Con was originally an epthithet by Richard Rorty, I think, to describe a bunch of New York jewish liberals that broke from liberalism in the late '60's and turned into conservatives.By about 1980, they became Republicans fulltime.Included in this group are Irving Kristol, Norman Podhoretz,Daniel Bell...and late came to include James Wilson, Jeanne Kirkpatrick, Eliot Abrams, Charles Krauthammer, Jeff Bell, etc....they were refugess from the Democratic Party and were anti Communist and pro-growth.They began to provide much of the intellectual energy to the Republican Party beginning in the late '70's.Many would have been Scoop Jackson Dems, but they knew that radicals were in charge.
