They are not so darling when they are 1200 pounds of impatient! - If they have been stalled all night - they want to be let out by about six. My gelding won't pee in stall, (unusual for a horse) - so he has to go pretty bad by morning. I open the get and get the heck out of the way!

I understand
I used to live in an apt
I remember that urgent pleading face when I first opened my eyes in morning
and sometimes my dog would vibe me awake in middle of night

Good morning all...ah, fooled you Palo, got here before noon, tho I love to sleep until noon...but there is still great noise and commotion going on outside our happy home...yesterday all those workment laid a new section of road in our little neighborhood...today, the big steam roller has been here, constantly packing it down and smoothing it over....so I got so perturbed, I finally just got up...

Lulu was making some racket of her own, so I see...and wound up getting yelled at by her daddy....just a sign for her to go back to sleep, which of course, bassets love to do...bassets have two favorite hobbies...sleeping and eating...

Dizzy is hiding out again, until that giant steamroller leaves.....

I know they do all this road work during the day, because of course, that is when they can see, and many people are gone off to work for the day, or shopping or whatever...

But my poor hubby is really suffering for this...he has to sleep during the day because his job is at nite...hes already been up a couple times, because of the racket...hes gone to wearing his old army earplugs now, in order to get some sleep...what a pain...

Well, I suppose I should stop my grumbling, and just get on with things...got to go cook now...see ya all later...

hi westy
I read the article
she closed the brothel temporarily
we don't know why
the reason she gave, ''the girls are exhausted and can't give good service'' is prolly a cover story
my hunch is everyone is a bit jumpy now, and she wants to give everyone a chance to calm down
Love, Palo

I also read the story about the tired out prostitutes in Australia...Actually I got a kick out of some of the responses...some were on their high horses, saying that the sailors who frequented the prostitutes should have their names made public...yea right, nothing like sticking your big fat nose where it does not belong...

Seems like some of these folk, who say they love liberty and freedom, dont like to extend that to folk who dont fall in line with their own personal moral judgement...

I think using prostitutes is really a bad idea, but if these sailors who have been at sea for months, who are willing to sacrifice their lives in defense of their country, are willing to perhaps risk their health by using a prostitute, I am not one to belittle them...

Prostitutes have been around for thousands and thousands of years, and I do think its sad that women go into that line of work, but its an industry which will probably be around forever....Its between the sailors and their families, and their God...and its really no one elses business...

Patriotic nookie...LOL...

My husband and I were just discussing prostitutes and the military this past weekend...We were driving past Ft. Lewis, and then we were noticing the small towns all around the base...each town has its 'shady' motels, where we know that the soldiers and prostitutes meet...

Prostitutes were known to follow the troops during every single war ever fought here...One may not like that fact, but its there...

And when the goldrushers went up to the Klondike to pan for gold, not far behind were the 'gals' looking to cash in...When pioneers traveled out west to homestead and get some land, the 'gals' were there again.....

And thus I have a prostitution story for your amusement....

Many, many years ago, when I was a teen-ager, our family had gone out west from Chicago to visit relative in California...on our way home, dad wanted to go through Death Valley, and camp there...but he did not realize that going through Death Valley in the summmer heat is not kindly looked at by the authorities, and altho people do make the trip, even the guide books advise against Death Vally in the summer...

Well, needless to say, it was blazing hot, and there were no campgrounds open, not at that time of year...

So we had to travel outside of Death Valley, and it seems that on the road we were on, there were no campgrounds, indeed, very few towns...Just lots and lots of desert all surrounding Death Valley....

So dad drove on..it was getting dark, we were all hot and tired, and dad thought he would treat us all to an air conditioned motel, at the first town we stopped at, rather than setting up the tent at the first campground we found...

So finally a small town popped up...we went to the gas station, got some gas and cold drinks...dad noticed a motel across the road...so dad asked the gas station attendant if it was a nice motel...

Well, the attendant kind of hemmed and hawed, and dad was not quite sure what the deal was...so he drove the car over to the motel...

When we got there, dad noticed all the lovely young 'ladies' sitting on the front of the motel...all the 'ladies' were dolled up in skimpy clothing, big hairdos, and lots of makeup...

It did not take dad long to drive us out of there, muttering to himself, that he could not put his family up in a 'cathouse'....

So we drove on and on, finally reaching Las Vegas at midnight, and getting a room at a family motel...

End of prostitution story...

Your Dad could have told the girls all about his adventure in the bar, where he showed them all what he was "packing".So, did he explain to you then what the ladies looked like and why you shouldn't be spending the night at their fine country inn??LOL

We were all in the car, when dad drove over to the motel, so we got to see the 'gals'...but my brother and I were still young enough at that point, where we did not quite understand why we could not stay there...it took some grand explaining on dads part to make us see what was going on...

Oh yes, he should have pulled out his 'equipment' like he did at the bar in the 'manly' contest...I suspect mom, at that point, might have had some strong words to say to dad about that...
