If you don't like this promised "convenience" you'll be labelled an old-fashioned wary customer --- aka "troublemaker" someday???

Well, so be it. At least the label sheep won't be attached to this old-fashioned, troublemaker.

Notice how they don't immediately suspect radical Christian American terrorists? Apparently only the police chief is clueless. The people know who to point the finger at... but here we're too polite to ever do that.
Notice also that the AP mentions the protest at the beginning of the article, but not who or what was being protested until further down.

Pakistan bomb blast kills 12 women

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
ISLAMABAD, Pakistan -- Hundreds of Shiite Muslims protested in Pakistan's eastern Punjab province Friday after a bomb ripped through one of their mosques, killing 12 worshippers, all of them women, and wounding at least 13 other people. There was no claim of responsibility for blast, which occurred around midnight Thursday in Bukker, 300 miles southwest of the capital of Islamabad.
Asif Hayyat, the Punjab police chief, described the bombing as an "act of terrorism" and said "foreign elements" could not be ruled out. Police recently arrested a number of al-Qaida suspects in Punjab.
The bomb went off near the section of the mosque where women pray. Mosques are segregated. "All the dead were women," said Mohammed Nisar, a doctor at the only hospital in Bukker. He spoke by telephone.
Pakistan, and eastern Punjab province in particular, has been wracked by religiously motivated violence in recent years. Hundreds of people have been killed in violent attacks between rival radical elements belonging to the Sunni and Shiite sects of Islam.
Hundreds belonging to the Shiite community demonstrated Friday in Bukker, chanting slogans against a rival Sunni group.

FOFL. I think most eagles just naturally look a little edgy. LOL. How can you tell they've hatched ? I'm glad to have that link back, my niece emailed it to me about a month ago but I must have deleted it.

I did! Okay, so I was a little bit good....I got Ben and Jerry's frozen yoghurt instead of ice cream. Gotta cut calories corners somewhere!

Sometimes it seems that the eagles look really angry, especially when they take off for flight....or yesterday, one of them was practically on top on the camera, and all you could see was this big beak opening and closing...I know they are going to be very busy eagles now, hunting for extra food, and constantly feeding and protecting their little ones...its just really great fun to watch...

So, this may be why Pakistan is letting Americans and Brits in to help fight the war against terrorism. They refused "assistance" until very recently. Are these suspects natives back on home turf or foreigners?

The usual culprits in the killing of Shiite Muslims have been members of the violent Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan (SSP) or Guardians of the Friends of the Prophet group, banned by Musharraf. The organization reviles Shiite Muslims as outside the pale of Islam.
Since January dozens of Shiite Muslims have been killed in Pakistan. Many of the deaths have been target killings and have occurred both in the Punjab province and in the country's southern Sindh province, of which Karachi is the capital.
...Previously Hasan Turabi, the head of Tehrik-e-Jafria, blamed the upsurge in killings of Shiite Muslims on the return to Pakistan of militant Sunni Muslims from neighboring Afghanistan following the collapse of the hardline Taliban. Turabi said the Taliban, a movement dominated by Sunni Muslims, espoused the same philosophy as Pakistan's radical Sunni Muslims, and harbored those who had killed Shiite Muslims in Pakistan. With the fall of the Taliban these radical elements returned home, he said.

I know exactly what you mean about trying not to appear to be 'hicks'...we live near Timberline High, but off the roads, and back into the more rural looking area...I very seldom even go into downtown Olympia, such as it is, or to even Capital Mall...so when I get to Tacoma or Seattle, I feel like I am going big time

Kind of funny, so my son says, being that I was raised and lived in Chicago for the first 32 yrs of my life...but being that we lived among the tobacco farmers of North Carolina for five years, and have been out here for so many years, I just feel like I am a country person, rather than a city person...

So going right into downtown Seattle is like a shock to me...Hopefully we will get up to Pike Street Market soon...havent been there for a while, and its always a great way to spend a Saturday, lots of good food to eat, great produce and seafood to buy, lots of souvenirs to collect, and of course traipsing down to the Wharf for more seafood and shopping winding up with a ride out of Coleman Dock on the ferry boats(Am I making you homesick yet?)

You're just awful!!! You mentioned my high school, even. How could you?? *LOL*
Across from the Pike Street Market is a French bakery.. yummmmm... it smells so good I can never walk past it without stopping in. And down the street a few doors from that is a Greek gyro shop for lunch. I stopped there once, and it was great. I love riding the ferries - my sister's in-laws used to have a place on Orcas Island that we stayed at a couple of times. I'm glad you said it's cold and rainy there this weekend.

Guardians of the Friends of the Prophet group, banned by Musharraf.

Even in Islamic Pakistan they will ban a violent radical terrorist group disguised as a religious organization. But not in the USA - we "tolerate" them or we are the bad guys. After all, faith is what makes us strong. Faith in WHAT?... well, we cannot judge what others should have faith in, can we? Faith in jihad should be respected....
