I love the old Bette Davis movies also...one of my favorites, which was on TV just a few weeks ago, is 'Jezebel'....ah, a very young and lovely Bette Davis, and a young and handsome Henry Fonda...I just love that movie...
You know, when Bette Davis made that movie, she made it in hopes of it leading her to the role of Scarlett Ohara in Gone With the Wind....since in Jezebel, Davis also plays a strong willed southern woman, she had thought it was a great venue for showing off her skills...casting for GWTW was going on, and she hoped this role in Jezebel, would be like a full length screen test...ah, it was not to be...as we all know Viven Leigh, got the role, which to my mind anyway, was the perfect actress for the role....
But wanting that role, made Bette Davis in her role in 'Jezebel' to be just wonderful...

Ciao.. bella (donna) Don't let me poison your mind now.. I'm sure he's an absolute peach, and just misunderstood by the both of us.. ;)

Yes.. I recall most of that about Betty and Gone with the Wind.. I loved Jezebel, and was it Bon Voyager? Omg.. I loved that one so much..
I just promised Jessie, my granddaughter, that when I get home.. her and I are going to watch Gone with the Wind together. I got the DVD just before I left, and haven't watched it yet.. We will make some popcorn and lots of goodies and settle our butts for the marathon.. lol
I have the whole theater system and the sound should be great.

Bon Voyager???? Jeez, going on a trip, are we?? Or thinking of the frogs again? It was Now Voyager....stay in sometime and watch TCM with Palo, though load up on ciggys and Coke beforehand.Oh, and you bring the dip ;-)
I am certainly not academic, btw.Not when my middle name is Gomer ;-)
To: habs4ever
Yes.. poop head, Now Voyager..
"I am certainly not academic, btw.Not when my middle name is Gomer ;-)"
I could tell Neets that much.. After looking at those.......pecs, I would say that you are not the academic type at all.. Unless I've been just as mistaken all my life about that, as I was about Now Voyager.. lol
Don't be mean.. send Neets that second pic that you showed me.. It will make her swoon... ;)
To: grannie9
Refresh my fading memory, but is the second pic the side profile, looking up?? LOL
Bigger the brain, bigger the ....pecs ;-)My real name is Jethro Gomer and I'm from Appalachia (shhhhhhhhh.....maybe this will shut Neets up!)....

You and your granddaughter should have a fine time with watching GWTW...I love that movie...and to watch it, it was so well made way back when, it just looks as fresh today, as it did then....that is one movie I can watch time and time again, and never tire of it...

First off, she will love the clothes.. And she's at the right age to like the love story.. Of course, she'll probably think Clark is an old man and what's the point? But, we will see.. She may love the sound and drama of it all. She's really into generational things now.. Like family history and such, so she just may get into it..
To: habs4ever
It certainly was that pic..pec.. whatever.. That's the one, looking up.. Send her that one.. Omg, she'll just swoon..like I did.. She won't care if your name is Gomer or Goober.. Besides, they were both "nuts."
To: grannie9
She probably will love all the costuming....all the lovely dresses the ladies wore...my favorite is, and always has been the white dress Scarlett wears at the beginning of the movie....to me that dress is just the epitome of southern gentility of that time...
I have several Madame Alexander dolls, depicting Scarlett, and my two favorite ones, are two different versions in her white dress...
When you look at those dresses, the mind is boggled by the amount of material that went into the making of those dresses...I cannot even imagine the yardage involved...
And the men all looked so dashing in their finery...
Ah, those were the days, when folks really knew how to dress to impress...

A chick has hatched.. One egg, one chick.. Wow... I saw the chick moving in the nest, and the parents were looking it all over.. Now she/he is sitting on it again to keep them both warm.
To: westmex
Did you see it Westy? I saw it moving all around.. You could tell because it would move in front of the egg.. It was so funny to see them looking at it like proud parents.. lol
To: grannie9;westmex;all
So, where is the chick? i see a gray patch to the left of the eagle. Is that a chick or shell of an egg?
To: habs4ever
No.. she is sitting on it. She has it covered to keep it warm.. It was rolling around.. I don't think it's been there long.. They were picking shell pieces out of the nest..
To: habs4ever
It is right under her in the front of the camera. So if she moves, your going to see it.. It didn't look like it could move far.. sort of a rolling type ball still.. I did see it's head tho.
