we have nervous breakdown

Yes, we really do. Only I told Westy we get really cranky. I didn't want to own up to how serious that crankiness gets........

I guess it all just shows, that ones idea about the weather is greatly influenced by what you are used to...When I lived in Chicago, I thought nothing of blizzards, sub zero temps, rampant humidity, and scorching heat...it was just normal for that part of the country...

Then I moved to North Carolina, and had to cope with extreme heat and humidity for most of the year....

I must admit when we moved to Washington State, I think I cried for three months...we moved here the end of Sept, just the beginning of the rainy and cloudy and grey skies weather that continues into spring...I could not get warm...kept threatening to go back, to North Carolina to warm up...

But I stuck it out, and am so glad I did...we have been in Western Wshington now, for going on to 19 years, and I have finally gotten used to the weather and I love it...

rofl you are funny
the first day without sunshine is ok
but we find it unbearable to wake up to second day without sunshine
and on our third day we start to flip :)

The family was what they call "butter and egg men" but they handled all dairy products, I think. A fast business and a hardworking couple and there was a lot of oy veying going on....HaHaHa

When my Mom first came out here from Montana she use to tear the beds apart and hang the sheets up by the stove to dry them every night. They felt wet to her...lol..

I had a few Jewish friends back in Chicago, so I know what oy vey, or oy gevalt meant and when it was to be used...

I know one other Jewish word, taught to me by a Rabbinical student...And that word is 'Momser' or 'Mumser' I am not sure of the spelling, but do know its not a word a Rabbinical student should be teaching a sweet young thing, as I was once...cannot remember now why he taught me that word......

Yeah, getting used to the weather here does take some getting used to...thats funny about your mom...

When my son was working in Singapore, he said it was so very humid, that everything felt wet, and would not dry...then he would look outside, and see people have their wash hanging on the line and wonder if it ever really dried...

your post is interesting
I too took the horrendous weather of NYC for granted whole time I lived there
I was charmed to have no winter at all in tucson
but I found the summer heat unfathomable
it's like bein' in a pizza oven
in nyc it is screamin' headlines on all the tabloids when heat goes above 90
but in tucson we call it dropping down to the 90s, it is called relief from heat lol

That IS a coincidence!! Did your grandparents handle all dairy products, or where did that phrase originate? I wouldn't think they could have been as successful if they were restricted to butter and eggs.

honey, it's too dark where you are now to see the eagles in their nest high up in tree
I looked now and all I see is the lights on in houses
but I saved the link to my desktop and go there every day
also westy says soon the cam for the falcons in downtown Seattle will be up too
the falcons have four red eggs in their nest
we can't wait to watch them hatch too
our two eaglets are due to be born on April 25th
(we've seen the eggs, they look like two white tennis balls)
