If Walt Disney were alive, he would find a way to make a movie about Festus ;-) LOL

Dizzy's life is the cat's meow
he sure loves you, andysmom
he'll like catnip plants around
he'll find it tantalizing
as meema said, we all went thru the earthquake with Dizzy
we prayed so hard for his safe return to mommy
he has a place in our hearts
Love, Palo

I think Lulu is smitten with Happy

I feel dopey today and I didn't eat catnip

Loddy...yes indeed that 'peeing' did save Festus...thing is, it was a month in between the time he disappeared, and the time he was turned into the shelter...so I wonder what adventures he had during that month...

Habs...sure enough, that would be a great story for Disney...

We were so touched with story of Festus, and his picture, that my husband cut the whole article and picture of Festus out of the newspaper, and taped it to his closet door...when he tried to retreive it for me to read, he could not get it off...its been up there for so long now, and I guess he was afraid the paper would rip and tear...so I guess the Festus article and picture are up there forever...

Ah yes, that earthquake...something I hope to never feel again...we lived almost on top of the epicenter of that earthquake, and honestly I never felt so like I was going to die...the whole house was rocking and rolling, my husband got thrown out of bed, the fridge and freezer doors blew open, and there was food all over the floor, and poor Dizzy was so scared...

Funny thing was, when the earthquake first started, I just thought it was the artillery live shelling that goes on all the time down at Ft. Lewis...its so loud and earth shattering, and it makes all the dogs bark, and our windows shake, and things move...so thats what I thought it was when that earthquake started...but when I could actually feel the waves in the floor, I finally realized it was an earthquake, and just ran and stood under the doorway, and waited to die...

The poor hubby, having literally been thrown out of bed, just remained on the floor during the whole thing...he said it was like riding waves in the ocean...

An all together unpleasant experience...

hi andysmom
you did excellent reporting job when it happened
we were on Lcom
the official reports coming in were so confusing
we had no picture of what was going on
your on the spot reports were remarkable
we shared the whole experience with you
it felt so intimate, that we could share this experience with our fellows in your neck of the woods
we lived it with you
whole site was happy when Dizzy finally showed up
safe ending to harrowing time
Love, Palo

Yes, it was weird, being an on the spot reporter...and yes, we were so worried, when we could not find Dizzy at first...poor guy, he got so scared, he just found himself a good hiding place, until it was safe to come out again...

After Bills hot work outside, and your hot work on the computer, have a nice refreshing swim...

Hi all.. Company just left and we had a very nice day.. Good company, good weather, and good food and drinks.. It was too windy for the river, but we cruised the canals and had lunch on one of the small lakes..Then came back for swimming, hot tub and more food..

Been a loooong day so am heading to my bed.. Morning comes too quick...in my case anyway.. See you all tomorrow...

Walked about half a foot to the left of a chipmunk, he scurried away to sit behind a tree and furiously wash his face. I guess my presence made him feel 'dirty'. Oh well, at least the cardinal didn't think so, nor the little red squirrel. (Personal theory on the little red squirrel.. since he only had half his tail and was smaller than the *Worlds Fattest Sqiuirrel* he was a scout for the red squirrel invasion... just kidding.) He was sitting on the outside ledge of the PEEC's visitor center's windows and looking in through said window at me.. as was the cardinal. (Pocono Environmental Education Center.. brainwashing camp for kids.. has nice trails though...) Saw a bald eagle last time I was there. He flew over my little group. First time I've seen one, ever. Had heard that they're back in the area after almost a century or so absence. Another source tells me that over by beaver pond there was a group that has been there for years. Don't quite know who to believe. But I trust the word of the guys with the binocs that say they've watched a native group of bald eagles for years, as opposed to the ones that have been 'relocated' to the area.

Whoo! getting wordy here. The tufted titmice drop seed on the squirrel just to see it bounce off of him...
Scientists are only watching the evil star clusters, eh? Hmm.... I see I need to use the amnesia ray on them. No-one can know about them.. .wait.. how do you guys know about them? *Larf!* I prefer the pics of Cygnus X-1 or Eta Carinae.. Off hand can't remember which machine the pics of those are on. Let your eyes go for now. Otherwise I'll babble on.. and on.. and on... and everybody wang chung tonight..

Glad you feel like a new woman...does Bill feel like a new man? I always enjoyed swimming in the evening, or even after it gets dark...

I just now checked the eagles nest...one is on the nest, and I should think the other one will be returning soon, as its getting dusky now...they need to huddle together at night, being that they are such lovebirds, and have to keep all those eggs nice and warm in the cold night air....
