Ah, precious...

You got my precious 500... Ach! Not a nice little hobbit, are you?

Oh my word yes... they are all about horses. Dick Francis is a former English Steeplechase hockey. And every mystery has to do with horses. And since he is so knowledgeable about his subject, you learn alot.
He's retiring... but there must be at least 25 books. I loved them all.

Well, I want Gollum you by spitting on your neck or biting your shoulder. I'll just bide my time and lure you to my trap.
To: carton253
Be nice to Hair! She has to take care of the ponies, if you feed her to Shelob they'll starve!
I'm happy - finally finished my paper, which is twenty pages long, and my taxes, which weren't bad either. Now I have a whole two hours free until dinner and class - whatever shall I do with it?

Ah.. but the Shelob manuever is already known. I have something else planned. Far more sinister than Shelob. Pure misunderstood spider thing! I wonder what her childhood was like?
To: carton253
Well, her mother was hardly a caring compassionate spider - Ungoliant is hardly the nurturing type. But that doesn't excuse trying to eat Hobbitses!

Carton is right... I would never be dumb enough to follow carton into a cave.
To: carton253
No Way I'm feeling sorry for Shelob!
To: carton253
William Shatner can only be Nathan Lane????
Sorry. I'm such a smart alec.;^)
To: MozartLover
Funny though... No... Nathan Lane can only be Nathan Lane and Shatner can only be Shatner.
To: HairOfTheDog
You would if I made it worth your while.
To: Overtaxed
I am all for supporting carton's compassion for the angst-ridden in these books. But trying to see the good side of Shelob, is over-the-top, I agree.
To: carton253
Don't even think about it! If you try to get rid of Hair, Overtaxed and I will feed you to a dragon. Or an eagle, we'll say it was you who called the Eagles stupid. Right OT?

Oh you guys... you are so funny. No, my sympathy ends for Gollum the moment he entered the cave.
All I'm saying (in my defense of poor Smeagol) is that most of you will excuse Bilbo and Frodo's bad behavior by blaming the ring. But, you won't do that for Smeagol. Kind of double standard, don't you think?
But mostly what Smeagol has going for him (and I recognize that he is a villan) is that he is hysterical. He makes me laugh, and if you make me laugh, I'm not so apt to judge you harshly.
But that wouldn't have blinded me to his faults and the danger Smeagol represented.

I just had a crazy thought.......music theater is one of my favorite things in the whole world...........(I've been rehearsal/performance pianist for over 50 amateur musicals.)
......How long before we have....."LORD OF THE RINGS; THE MUSICAL"???????
THEN we'd get to hear some of those cool Hobbit & Bombadil songs.;^)
Does anyone know..............have any of the LOTR lyrics been set to music by anyone, at any time, for any purpose??? Just curious..........what a fascinating project that would be............
To: JenB
Eagles? I don't sweat no stinkin' eagles.
Hey, if we think about the book as an analogy and stuff... do you think the Eagles represent the Americans?
To: carton253
LOL! Just answered my own question!
LOTR MIDI FILES .Going to go check them out now.
To: MozartLover
