U.S. President Donald Trump declared Representative Ilhan Omar’s seat “conceded” by Democrats over federal court filings referring to her as Ilhan Nur Said Elmi, a name Omar has denied is hers.
Prosecutors referred to the Democrat running for reelection in Minnesota as “Ilhan Nur Said Elmi, a/k/a Ilhan Abdullahi Omar” in a federal court filing submitted Wednesday that was obtained by Newsweek. Omar pushed back the next day, saying in a post on X: “Whenever the news turns bad, this creep reaches for one name: mine. So let’s make it crystal clear. My name has always been Ilhan Omar.”
On Friday, during a speech in Fort Myers, Florida, Trump said Omar’s seat was conceded because she allegedly used a fraudulent name to take her congressional oath. “The Dumocrat Party has just conceded the seat of the former Ilhan Omar from the lovely country of Somalia,” he said.
There has been no formal announcement from Democrats conceding Omar’s seat – she remains a sitting member of Congress.
Trump’s latest comments came after he had already demanded Omar resign in a post on Truth Social which repeated claims she previously married her brother, which Omar has vehemently denied.
He also said at a rally in Iowa: “She used a fake name to be sworn in. I assume she must immediately have to resign from Congress.” He later declared: “The Republicans have just picked up a seat in the House.”
House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries on Saturday slammed Trump in a statement for what he called “unhinged personal attacks and baseless accusations.”
“We aggressively oppose the weaponization of the federal government against Congresswoman Omar, who continues to work hard on behalf of her constituents in Minnesota with strength and dignity,” Jeffries said.

As much as I hate the prospect, she will be easily re-elected. Why? Because its Minnesota (in general) and Minneapolis specifically.
Hakeem Jeffries is supporting “Omar” only because the blasphemous book he swears on commands him to.
He knows she’s a fraud and a liar, but will back her until her arrest and conviction.
We’ll know if Omar is really out when we see her new videos analyzed to say “University botanists have concluded all the flora and fauna behind her are not native to anywhere in the Western hemisphere. She is somewhere far, far away.”

So it's looking like she's going to be arrested and deported soon, but how does this lead to Republicans picking up a seat? Won't the Democrat governor just appoint another Somalian?
She should resign any day now and give the MAGA candidate an instant win in the upcoming election. Early voting started on October 16. That’s a shame. No time to change anything.
Vacated House seats are left open until they can hold a special election. Vacant Senate seats are filled by the governor. Whoever replaces MS Elmi will no doubt be a Democrat and a Somali. But maybe, like Lynsey Graham, they can appoint her brother/husband to temporarily hold the seat…
Then technically it would be a gain for R’s because there is one less seat altogether. The R’s have the same amount of Reps but the D’s have one less.

• Censure: A formal, public reprimand voted on by the House floor.
• Expulsion: Under Article I, Section 5 of the U.S. Constitution, the House can expel a member with a two-thirds majority vote, immediately removing them from office.
Rep. Omar is the subject of an active federal investigation. Federal agents executed a search warrant at her Washington, D.C. home. According to law enforcement sources, that ongoing probe is focused primarily on immigration and citizenship document fraud dating back to her family’s arrival in the US, as well as separate inquiries into her errant financial disclosures.
