Liberal Americans who fled to Europe after President Donald Trump's re-election shared how the grass is not always greener on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean.
Wired Magazine released an article Thursday headlined "They Fled Trump’s America. Now They Regret It," speaking directly to those who sought "political refuge in the wake of Trump’s second term," but have since voiced frustration with Europe’s lower quality of life, the rise of right-wing politics in those countries, and a newfound appreciation for the cultural norms and niceties of American life.
One account, from a woman nicknamed "Annie," said she was sold the idea of an idyllic U.K. life on social media, "But the reality of life in the U.K. was dramatically different to what she’d imagined."
"There are huge misconceptions about access to quality healthcare, standard of living… the quality of life is significantly lower than in the U.S.," she told the magazine, citing challenges ranging from their healthcare system to a significantly lower disposable income. "Things in the U.K. that are considered luxury items are very common" in America, like a dishwasher and dryer, she told Wired.
Annie told the outlet that despite believing she'd have free healthcare under the NHS, she now pays "huge amounts of taxes and an immigration surcharge" to access the national healthcare services.
"So no, the health care is not free here," she said.

I thought it was fascinating to see European reactions to America when they came over for World Cup soccer. A lot of them seemed to come to the realization that Europe is poor.
I do think that some aspects of European culture are good, and we can learn some stuff from them. But, overall, we are a much better place to be than Europe. And part of our whole system of 50 federated states is intended to establish this. Yes, there is a fair degree of homogeneity at this point, but if you want to live in Massachusetts, go right ahead. If you prefer Florida, or Oklahoma, you are free to move there. It’s all America, but you can choose how much government you want looking over your shoulder.
They "seem" to enjoy life more than Americans and I prefer their cafe/restaurant scene.
Too bad they're retarded right now.
TOUGH COOKIES..they can stay there..and ironic that they dont approve of the health care system they have there, that is what they want for the US. Reminds me of commies who leave Commiefornia since here its a commie rat hole, they move to Texas and bring their commie agenda with them
Agree. You had your chance to be an American and blew it.
I hope every last one of them officially gave up their US citizenship when they left.
Don’t let ‘em come back.

The Royal College of Nursing said in 2018 that migrants working in the NHS should be exempt from the surcharge because this would help tackle the health service’s staffing crisis.
Their politics are stupid but generally Europe is a nice place to visit.
Rosie O’Dungheap is back and so is Smellen DeGenerate. They didn’t last long in the UK.
“I thought it was fascinating to see European reactions to America when they came over for World Cup soccer.”
I paid a lot of attention to those videos. It’s remarkable (to me) that it was remarkable (to them) how polite Americans are. Some were gobsmacked. “Americans hold the door open for other people when they don’t even know them.” “If you’ve pulled over to the side of the road, Americans will stop and ask if you need help.” “When you’re walking past them, Americans will say ‘Hello’ to you.”
I can’t imagine NOT doing those things.
“they move to Texas and bring their commie agenda with them”
Last week on a podcast one of the panel had done some research. She said that, although some of that is happening, by far there are more conservatives moving to TX from blue states. I hope that’s true.
LOL Annie thought her health care would be free. Annie isn’t very bright.
I’m much more forgiving than you. I’d be willing to welcome them back if they’d be willing to have “I’m ill-informed, gullible, and stupid” tattoed on their foreheads
They’ve talking about this since at least Bush junior.

Trust me, We are the shining city on the hill and the envy of the world. God bless America!!
Problem is we’re getting a lot of Hindus and Muslims.
