California GOP gubernatorial candidate Steve Hilton dropped a shocking ad teasing a lesbian encounter Thursday, a day after his debate with rival Democrat Xavier Becerra.

Hilton launched “Just Try It, California,” the first spot in a six-figure television and digital ad campaign aimed at Gen Z and millennial voters, his campaign said in a news release.

The ad shows two AI-generated young women sitting on a bed beneath a Pride flag, one wearing a “RESIST” shirt. Their suggestive exchange implies they are about to engage in a sexual act, with one hesitant and the other reassuring her it will be OK.

Pound your chest some more, dear.

It’s cute to watch.

It didn’t take you long to get nasty, no need for that behavior.

With you intelligence incomparable to most, you could employ yourself with he campaign committee of various candidates in close races.

No doubt they could use your expert advice, skills and purity to help them win over and over.

Seriously, give Hilton's campaign a call, he could use the assist.

I’ve worked on a number of California campaigns, as many as 3 at a time, paid and unpaid.

Ick. I am glad this commercial isn’t on the airwaves around me. Frankly, I now hope that Steve Hilton loses. Sometimes the lesser of two evils is just too evil.

Whatever you are, your help is more likely a curse than a blessing, ironicly.

And this thread is horsewhipping a dead horse.

See ya.

It is one ad, a thread on one single ad, some approve some don’t, and you went into a whole history rather than see it as such.

One’s an endorsement, the other is just pointing it out.

Trump won because folks were tired of Republicans taking the high road - and letting the democrats win. This thread seems to have attracted some folks that long for the old days.

Yes, it is. Just like everything is these days. Something bad —really bad— has happened to our society, and it’s dying. Quickly. And here I am, trying to kick alcohol...

I understand war, and that there isn’t a lot of room in it for gentle niceties.

My take is Hilton knows he’s losing so he figured why not toss in everything including the kitchen sink and go out in a “blaze of glory”.

I saw that ad on a podcast yesterday. Major ick factor — cheap and trashy.

“Aint no lesbian thing. It is the redhead convincing the darker haired to cast a vote”

Well duh. Of course that’s the purpose. But the innuendo leading up to the voting issue crosses a line. Kids don’t need to be seeing that trash.

Unforced error on Hilton's part.

His campaign was until this squeaky clean. That was the unspoken thing he brought to the race: Some minor alley-way out of California degeneracy.

His campaign wasn't prudish but it was straight as an arrow. Not any more.
