Facebook lets bad people know where I live. f/b is flagging my rental posts
self

Posted on 10/05/2026 2:51:28 PM PDT by George from New England

For ten years now I've had an anonymous name on facebook. Listed two or three rental units where I live without incident. I would use messenger to qualify who I give my address to. Before I started this anonymous approach I had a vehicle with 3 disruptive teenagers just show up at my house, unannounced.

Now. Facebook is flagging my listings and denying me access to renters. They want me to "Verify my identity." If I use my real name, users on internet can find my address real easy. We are over 70 and don't need "trouble" just showing up.

How can I convince facebook to allow me this level of security. Any ideas would be great.

Do a search in your city to find local listings for rentals.

Zillow Rentals

Who was it put a gun to your head and forced you to give Fakebook your personal information?

It’s election season...they banned me again. I can’t even create an account because when they make you verify it...they will see my ID and insta ban me!

I have to use family member accounts that passed away. Even while I’m in the FB gulag and can’t even post and about to get released...they throw me back in for a post from months ago (which is a perfectly fine post). They just don’t want to let me communicate every election season.

Just get a good shotgun and practice with buckshot. That way trouble makers showing up (like groups of teens or humblegunner) will be one-time offenders.

Why would you possibly think gunner is due any respect at all? He certainly doesn’t show any to anyone else. He’s here to be a bomb thrower.

Facebook can be a trap. Too many have fallen for the head-fakes there. Too many love the attention their “selfies” and reels have gotten them... but attention by whom or what entities? And ask yourself this. Why are there so many foreign-named “Moderators” for The Dan Bongino Show page. A lot of them hiding behind “recipes” posts. What’s up with that? Something smells rotten... and it ain’t the bad cooking, I suspect.

Well there are numerous scam sellers on facebook so this is now a safety protocol to verify who you are.

That doesn’t mean there will not be drawbacks which result in how you honestly did business there now having to be changed.

In my county there is a way to “hide” your info on the tax collector website. I have used every free avenue there is Nextdoor, Facebook, Zillow, Apartmentsdot com, Avail, Craigslist and occaisionally have paid a small amount to two of these to boost my ad to the top. I get the best response from Zillow and Apartments, but have leased my condos from all of the above. I don’t hide my name. People can find your location even if you hid it everywhere, by using sites like ancestrydotcom, peoplefinder, rehold, the local property appraiser, etc. Zillow recently blocked me from accessing a scammer who posted an outside link from the Zillow website. My biggest dread is unmarried couples(breaking up is hard on the landlord, not the couple) and people with “emotional support” animals, not harassment. I am a senior. My aunt and uncle used to have 50 units and worked into their late 80s. (they had 100 before selling off half when they were in their 60s).

There are no official, reliable workarounds to pass Facebook’s identity verification while remaining completely anonymous. Because Facebook’s system is automated and highly sophisticated, its primary goal during verification is to ensure your profile name and details exactly match a legitimate government-issued ID.

I got to that part and had to laugh, I know you were just giving info but my twisted mind went to, I guess no African Americans can pass the facebook identity verification.

71 shouldn’t be too old to manage 440 sq ft units at our property.
I just don’t want the drive-by’s

None of this was an issue until facebook moved the goal posts.

Meta uses AI to moderate FB, Instagram, and WhatsApp. It's gotten tighter, for good and for bad.

The big news these days are thousands upon thousands being banned for CSE (Child Sexual Exploitation).

My 19 year old account was banned in June just for that. It was quietly reinstated 5 weeks later. It was banned again for the same thing 6 days later. It was reinstated 3 weeks later. Then it was banned again 4 days later. All for CSE.

And get this.... I filed a complaint with my state AG's office and they took the case. Meta responded and said I had no policy violations and was reinstated. Four days later, banned.

I'm done with that toilet.

There’s simply no free lunch. Running a business costs overhead. You need to rethink it all with that in mind. The cost of allowing bad tenants can be disastrous—property damages, non-payment, squatting, violent parties, or illegal activity on the property.

Some cities have workshops for small business owners. Your accountant, insurance agent or realtor may also have some tips for minimizing your outlay and maximizing your profit.
