Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., introduced eight articles of impeachment Tuesday against Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, accusing him of exceeding constitutional and congressional limits on U.S. military action in Iran, Yemen and Venezuela.
Massie introduced the resolution on the House floor, where he spent more than an hour outlining allegations ranging from violations of the War Powers Resolution to unlawful military strikes and retaliation against a U.S. senator.
The first three articles focus on the administration’s war with Iran. Massie argues the conflict began without a congressional declaration of war or other statutory authorization and alleges Hegseth continued military operations despite congressional efforts to end U.S. involvement.
Massie also accused Hegseth of continuing hostilities beyond time limits established under the 1973 War Powers Resolution.
Other articles target the Pentagon’s conduct in military operations against suspected drug traffickers in the Caribbean. Massie alleges the administration improperly substituted military force for traditional law enforcement and failed to adequately protect civilians.
Another article concerns Operation Absolute Resolve, the U.S. mission that resulted in the capture of former Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores. Massie alleges Hegseth lacked constitutional or statutory authority for the operation.
Massie also accused Hegseth of retaliating against Sen. Mark Kelly, D-Ariz., over Kelly’s participation in a video urging military personnel to reject unlawful orders.
The eighth article challenges U.S. military operations in Yemen, alleging Hegseth initiated hostilities without congressional authorization and failed to comply with War Powers reporting requirements.
“In all of this, Secretary Hegseth abused the powers entrusted to him as Secretary of Defense by subordinating the constitutional limits on the use of military force and the laws governing the conduct of hostilities to his own policy objectives,” Massie said.
There is something wrong with this guy...
♫ I see your true colors, shining through ... ♫
Did Tucker and MTG help him put this together? I hope Brian Glenn is getting a good story out of it.
proof positive that this scumbag is the scumbag most folks here always thought he was ... this PoS is trying to extract revenge against the voters who just kicked him out, but instead has totally vindicated those who ousted him and possibly even awakened one or two who voted to keep him ...
“There is something wrong with this guy...”
some here believe that it has something to do with the water they drink in Kentucky ...
The War Powers Act is of questionable legality as can Congress makes rules for POTUS outside of the Constitution?
That was Admiral Mike Rogers.
Sometimes you need an ass h^le—Patton was an ass too.
More wasting time and money
There’s nothing else more important to do?
I’ll help prioritize for Mr. Massie:
- Fighting radical Islam
- Health insurance… Eliminating Obamacare and enabling a competitive market
- Education - a reboot for failing schools and students unprepared for life
- Welfare reform - a work mandate
- Cutting taxes
- Cutting the size of government
- Drastically cut spending
- Balance the budget
- Social Security reform
- Protecting our borders
- investing in our military
- Taking care of our veterans
Could go on…
Massie used to be my favorite.
His libertarian bent is blind to the existential threat of Radical Islam espcially Persian Shiite Islam
He is running for President 3rd party.
Ross Perot II
Nothing more than this.
“Next Up on MSNow... our newest Political Analyst, Thomas Massie”
Massie never served in the military yet now feels the call of duty to impeach the Secretary of War.
....but instead has totally vindicated those who ousted him and possibly even awakened one or two who voted to keep him ...

Reminds me of cornyn in Texas and how he is butthurt over Paxton curb stomping his pathetic arse in the primary. Now Mr. conservative cornyn is taking cheap shots at Paxton and undermining his campaign.
mASSie is from Kentucky which also gave us Rand and Mitch the Cadaver.
Not a fan of the people who defend this bum.
What an insufferable prima donna!
Massie never served in the military ...
Pete Hegseth - infantry officer commissioned through ROTC, served in National Guard, deployed to Iraq and to Afghanistan, promoted up to Major, awarded bronze star.
I like citizen soldiers. I greatly respect my ring-knocker fellow officers from the academies, but I like that the chain of command has representatives of the total force.
I’ll point out that Dan Caine, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, is also ROTC. And, that Vice President J.D. Vance enlisted in the Marines.
I’ve spoken on behalf on others who served in uniform on this website, and am happy to so so again.
Of course Massie would🤬
