An American diplomat working at the US Embassy in London was detained and back to the US in a secret operation after authorities allegedly found child porn on his devices, according to a report. The unidentified diplomat is alleged to have received the twisted material from his US-based brother, leading to a raid by US Marines on his London apartment late last month, the UK Sun reported.
Now, UK officials and authorities are expressing outrage, who say that the US had no legal authority to seize him, according to the the Sun.
On Aug. 24, a day before the dawn raid, a Boeing 747 flew from Chicago to a Royal Air Force base in Gloucestershire, Southwest England, where the US Air Force has a large presence, according to reports.
The following day, the same plane left the base and flew back to the US, landing at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware shortly before 8 p.m local time.
Less than four hours later, the plane reportedly left Delaware and flew to O’Hare Airport in Chicago.
British police and authorities were only informed about the raid following the diplomat’s extraction, according to the Sun.
The clandestine operation has sparked fury among British politicians.
“The US Government is now protecting pedophiles,” conservative member of parliament Ben Obese-Jecty wrote on X.
“US Marines conducting a raid on British soil, on which they have no jurisdiction, to seize one of their own diplomats and then use US military resources to ferry the suspect out of the country and fly him to the US is completely unacceptable,” he added.
The diplomatic fallout comes just days before the new British Prime Minister Andy Burnham is set to meet with President Donald Trump at the UN in New York.

Understandable as they didn't know anything about the situation until the perpetrator had been removed from the country.
This is why the story doesn't make sense. If he's *OUR* Diplomat, he's outside their jurisdiction anyways.

I maintain a healthy skepticism of any government that finds “child porn” on any device. Sure it happens and creeps consume that filth. But there is no easier way for a government to take out a political enemy by placing CP on a phone of one of their enemies. If he is guilty as proven by evidence, hang him. If not. Beware. Libs WILL place the filth on their political enemies to get rid of them.

Since when do US diplomats have their electronic devices checked on by foreign ‘authorities’?
Once the perpetrator is back on U S soil we're no longer talking about a diplomat with diplomatic immunity, so there is nothing to waive. If the Brits want to have him returned to the UK they would have to issue a warrant for his arrest and request extradition. Waiving diplomatic immunity needs to be done while the perpetrator is still in the host country.
