Question for the defense.
Doesn't the request for a pardon imply guilt?
It's generally a bad practice to execute lawyers along with their clients, no matter how sleazy those lawyers might be, but in this case, one must wonder if we should make an exception.
Last week, Reddington was criticized for informing the media that there was a lone jury holdout, indicating that the holdout was male, and trying to remove the holdout from the case.
Many people interpreted this as jury intimidation so Clancy could get a "not guilty" verdict for methodically and systematically choking the life out of her three young kids.
He is now making the circuit on national TV to make a circus out of the ongoing legal proceedings.

I get vigorously defending your client but what this jackass did during and especially after it was declared a mistrial were sanctionable actions IMO.
At the post trial press conference he did everything he could to disparage the one juror who disented from the other 11 and did everything he could to identify who he was stopping just short of saying the man’s name.

Apparently preemptive pardons may be handed down, but it's not clear if they will hold up in court.
I Read somewhere here on FR that Presidents at one time did pardon state crimes. President Trump did Pardon Tina Peterson and the Colorado Governor followed by Pardoning or communing her sentence. This probably means that he and the Ds did not want a challenge of the pardon being sent to the SC.
Much of the nonsense can be traced back to poor quality prosecution. The trial process has a huge number of opportunities for both the defense and prosecution to bias the outcome one way or the other.
And if one side or the other doesn’t take advantage of these, typically due to incompetence, the result is injustice.
An 11-1 for acquittal in this case strongly suggests that the prosecution team fumbled badly and a lot.
I do hope Trump ignores this guy and mentions nothing. I think talking about it from the President would spoil any chances of another trial because it would taint the jury pool. Reddington POS is up to no good with this.

Trump pardoned Petersen of any possible following federal charges. So he could in theory do the same here. But it doesn’t change Clancy’s current situation at all.
