At least five people are dead and five others are injured after an Amazon Prime Air plane, a Boeing 767, crashed at Miami International Airport due to overshooting the runway upon landing.

The cargo plane overran Runway 30, struck multiple vehicles, and came to rest at a field next to the airport.

“21 Air Flight 7598 overran the runway after landing at Miami International Airport around 2 p.m. local time on Sunday, Sept. 6. The Boeing 767-300 cargo aircraft departed from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The FAA will investigate,” the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said in a statement.

"Prime Air Flight 7598 overran Miami International Airport’s diagonal runway at approximately 2 p.m. today, leaving the aircraft disabled at the northwest end of the airport. All MIA runways and taxiways are currently closed, and a full ground stop is in effect," Miami International Airport stated.

"Passengers with flights scheduled today should check directly with their airline for flight status updates before heading to the airport," it added.

NBC News shared further:

Three people were in critical condition and were taken to a trauma center, and two others were taken to a local hospital, Miami-Dade Fire Chief Raied Jadallah said.

A hotline has been set up for relatives of people who may have been involved in the accident. The scene remains active.

Video showed plumes of smoke billowing from the wreckage. The plane, Jadallah said, struck “a couple of vehicles.”

Amazon spokesperson Kelly Nantel said the flight was operated by 21 Air and was coming in to land when the incident occurred.

“We’re heartbroken to learn that five people lost their lives in today’s incident at Miami International Airport. Our deepest sympathies go out to the families, loved ones, and all those affected by this devastating loss,” Nantel said.

CBS News has more:

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR) said the plane hit several vehicles near the 2100 block of Northwest 42nd Avenue, and more than 60 of its units were responding. The Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office said it is also responding.

MDFR said when the crews arrived, they found the plane with heavy smoke and flames showing had stopped beyond the airport's operational boundary. Using foam and specialized airport firefighting units, MDFR crews fought to extinguish the fire. Crews also conducted search and rescue operations for the pilots and co-pilots inside the cockpit while locating and assessing patients throughout the scene, MDFR said.

One person was trapped under an involved vehicle and was extricated by specialized MDFR technical rescue personnel, officials said.

You are one hateful ignorant person. Why not just wait until we know more instead of exposing your childish ignorant garbage?

Maybe you're part of the problem. Placing identity over qualifications is a terrible and tragic way to run the aviation industry. In this field, DIE literally means die.

Female and Minority Pilots Caused Half of Pilot-Error Crashes

No, you are part of the problem. You don't know the details about the pilots. You don't know if there was a malfunction on the plane. I don't either.

I always like to wait until the preliminary NTSB report is done. If it turns out be a problem with the pilots, then I'll join in.

But, spew on.

Except you don’t know jack about the cause of the accident. Embarrassing.

Coulter Rule already in effect. The longer they don't reveal the identity of the pilot, the less likely it is a white male.

An inability to recognize patterns and trends is your problem, not my problem.

You're not a DIE warrior, but a bureaucratic jackass, another one of the likes we're fighting against. If the captain of this ship was a white male you would have known about it instantaneously.

You’re not fighting against anyone. You’re sitting behind a keyboard pushing a narrative.

Good grief.

While you bathe in your ignorance, old timer. You don't know what's going on.

I'll say it again and again, dumb ass. If the captain of this aircraft was a white male, you would have known about it immediately after the crash. The denial is happening before your eyes, but you're too stupid to realize it.

Between 2000 and 2020, these type of aviation incidents didn't happen in the United States, but they are a common occurence now. I wonder what changed? What happened?

More ignorance. Like it or not, pilot error accidents occurred between 2000 and 2020.

Cool your jets and wait for the accident investigation. Or just keep shouting DEI at the clouds.
