Doesn’t look much like Trump to me.
Fun fact: The “Circulating Collectible Coin Redesign Act of 2020” prohibits the use of portraits of living individuals on the reverse side of U.S. coins.
I’m no coin expert. So I guess Trump’s picture is on the obverse side here?
The mugshot seen around the world.
It’s honestly not too bad, even if it is the mugshot.
I’m a coin collector and have an account with the US Mint.
Today at 12 eastern, these coins went on sale. It took an hour to get through the website. They created a ‘virtual waiting room’ where they gave you a place in line.
I am now the proud owner of a $100 bag and a couple rolls of the Donald J. Trump 250th Anniversary dollar coins.
Yes, buying from the Mint is a little pricey. $150 dollars in coins cost me $273 with shipping.
I feel good.
““These coins are also in circulation, so check your pocket change. Collect them today!” the Mint said on X.”
“...available in 25-coin rolls and 100-coin bags, and priced between $61 and $154.50, the Mint said.”
The odds of getting one in circulation (how, exactly?) seem pretty slim. Stores don’t give you change in dollar coins. Banks? Good luck.
out of stock at the mint.
I’ll keep the Washington bills I have on me. Don’t need any of these.
They've tried to kill him enough times that he qualifies to have his face on a coin while he's still alive.
Who PROFITS off this and to what extent?
this is a base metal token with gold plating/paint of some sort ... a collector’s item only ... maybe a little better resale value than Franklin Mint crap ... at least until a decade or so down the road ...
Boy, you drew out the anti-Trumpers on this thread.
What was supposed to be numismatic announcement turned out to be exposing Trump-haters.
What a mess.
I look forward to seeing Trump dollar coins in circulation.
So sought after it cashed the web site selling them.....
Can you get these at a bank? Seems easier to me. I wonder if they will tarnish like the Sacagawea ones
My mugshot for a DUI was so good I used it for Facebook back when I used it pre-Nazi era. The few who picked up on it got a great laugh.
