Researchers working at the archaeological site of Kainua near the modern town of Marzabotto found two bronze female statuettes and an extremely rare bronze bowl inside an ancient well system. Human remains belonging to two adults were also found at the site.
The excavation is being conducted by the University of Bologna in collaboration with the Ravenna Archaeological Group.
The objects have been dated to between the late sixth and early fifth centuries BC, when the Etruscan settlement was being established and developed...
The location of the discovery adds to its significance. The well stands within Kainua’s sanctuary district, where archaeologists have previously identified two monumental temples. Etruscan inscriptions indicate that the temples were dedicated to Tinia and Uni, two of the most important deities in the Etruscan pantheon.
Tinia was the supreme sky god and is often compared with the Greek Zeus and Roman Jupiter. Uni, his consort, occupied a position comparable with Hera in Greek religion and Juno in Roman tradition.

Beautiful artwork!
😁 They merely studied electricity, there was an institute called “the Lightning School”.⚡
That “Money Pit” has been pulling in suckers for almost 230 years.
As recently as medieval times, when towns got sacked it was somewhat common to dump some dead bodies down the local well to make it unusable.
Nice!
😁🐕
My pleasure. “The Architect’s Dream” has been a big favorite (along with an Italian fresco, “Fall of the Giants”) since at least the 1990s, thanks to the internet.
Probably belonged to the local ruler, but his sister hoard half of it.
Yeah, I know. They do find some interesting stuff, I just don’t know if they’ll ever find anything resembling what they’re looking for.
In times of peace it was normal to keep a cover over the well so things did not fall in. They might not have known germ theory but they knew a dead body in the water was not healthy.
If people started getting sick one of the first thing they would do is send someone down the well to see if there was any sign of something wrong.
What do you think Zeus's Thunderbolt was?
Now being able to control, manufacture and store electricity in great quantities was not around but electricity was.
