Those shares are probably locked up.
Restricted shares cannot be sold right away. I know I used to have a five year vesting schedule. Once I hit the fifth year, I was able to sell the shares from Year 1. Year six, I could sell some from Year 1 AND year 2.
If I had stayed until Year 10…that would have been lucrative.

I’m sure much of that wealth exists in stock options that the employees may not be able to exercise until a future date.
Your comment might also not apply to those employees in their late 20’s or 30’s, who want to ensure their financial well being for a very long time horizon.
those are in stock options that one can only vest after a certain period of time.
So they are theoretical money
