The US Food and Drug Administration announced today that it has approved a groundbreaking new treatment option for pancreatic cancer.

Manufactured by Revolution Medicines, daraxonrasib made headlines earlier this year when former US Sen. Ben Sasse, R-Neb., shared details about his experience with the drug — which left his skin bloody and “bubbling” but is also giving him more time with his family amid his battled with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

A good friend died of PC last week. A bit over 3 years from initial diagnosis. She was offered the me. She declined. Said the side effects would not be worth it and the estimate was it would only add about 2 more months to her life.

It’s catching it early that is the trick.

I know I had it then the 5 year check up is the danger point too.

My sincere condolences for your loss.

I am continuing to receive chemo infusions every couple of weeks or so, as well as taking a whole host of supplements and off-label meds (under the supervision of a medical professional.

Still trying to understand how cancer actually works.

Best of luck to you. I hope this treatment works as well for you as it did for us. Also think about diet. Keto works particularly well against cancers. Cancer feeds on metabolic sugars. Carbs are broken down into sugars. So low carb diets make it harder for cancer cells to thrive. Something to think about.

Thank you. I have been aware of keto, but haven’t done anything with it b/c I am a diabetic. Its really, really hard for me to fast.

Also look into the link I provided in my comment #51. It does help explain the new thinking on the metabolic causes of cancer. And the appropriate treatments.

If type 2 diabetes, a keto diet can cure it. My wife and both did it. Not easy for the first two weeks. Then a piece of carb-free cake. Our blood sugars (and A1C levels) went from very high back to normal. Fasting helps but is not mandatory.
