The most avoided number in America
YouTube ^ | 08/03/2026 | Elephants in Rooms - Ken LaCorte Elephants in Rooms - Ken LaCorte

Posted on 08/07/2026 3:18:25 AM PDT by SmokingJoe

This video, presented by *Ken LaCorte*, examines the high murder rate among *Black Americans* in the United States, analyzing the data, historical trends, and potential factors contributing to these statistics.

### **Key Takeaways from the Video:**

* **The Data (0:52 - 2:43):** *Black Americans* make up roughly 13% of the U.S. population but account for over half of all murder victims and perpetrators. This disparity has persisted for decades, though the violence is highly concentrated in specific neighborhoods rather than being distributed across the entire population.

* **Historical Trends (2:43 - 10:25):** Murder rates in the U.S. fluctuate significantly over time. The video highlights a massive spike in violence during the 1970s and 80s—often linked to the rise of drug markets—followed by a decline in the 90s, and a recent resurgence following 2020. The video argues that shifting policies regarding police presence and sentencing play a role in these cycles.

* **Weaker Explanations (10:25 - 14:59):** The host contends that common arguments—such as *poverty* alone, *gun availability*, *genetics*, or *contemporary racism*—do not fully explain the racial gap, citing inconsistencies in the data and cross-cultural comparisons.

* **Factors That Hold Up (14:59 - 21:53):** The host suggests that a combination of factors is more influential:

* **Family Structure:** Significant focus is placed on the rise of out-of-wedlock births and the impact of fatherlessness on crime rates.

* **Economic Shifts:** The loss of industrial jobs in cities that once allowed men without college degrees to support families.

* **Culture:** The concept of a "street code" or subculture of violence, deeply rooted in historical institutional exclusion and long-standing distrust of the legal system.

* **Clearance Rates:** The declining ability of police to solve homicides, which disproportionately affects *Black* communities.

The video concludes by emphasizing that while historical context is vital, there is no single, simple explanation for the statistics.

When 12-13% of the population is responsible for about 60% of violent felonies, the problem is with that 12-13% of the population, not with the rest of us.

70% of suicide in America is committed by white men. The self-inflicted murder of America's primary taxpayers, and alimony and child support payers, occurs at rates far in excess of slaves forced to pick cotton 16 hours per day. Life is worse for many white men today than it was for slaves on the old Democrat plantations. Who are the slaves now? Get back to work!

No wonder the marriage and birth rates are at all time lows. Men, especially white men, do not want to get entrapped in marriage where alimony and child support imposed by pro-feminist courts will result in their financial bankruptcy. This is true even in conservative states. Asian and Hispanic women, especially if foreign born, may be less of a risk for white men than AWFL white women, but the risk remains if the woman decides she is better off without him.

There are many correlations and not one single cause. But that does not mean steps to reduce the problem and improve the situation...even if these steps don’t reach perfection.

Welfare. Currently welfare incentivizes bad lifestyle choices.
1) Bad lifestyle choices of tobacco, vaping, alcohol, drugs, STD, HIV, etc should not be rewarded. A person may be free to make bad lifestyle choices. But the taxpayer, the government, should not allow anyone on welfare to make these bad lifestyle choices. From a practical aspect, maybe put it in force for new welfare applicants.

2) Role models, personal connection vs anomynity. In a centralized government there is no personal connection to the “check is in the mail” or “automatic deposit and withdrawl on your credit card like welfare card.” Shift welfare from a centralized system to many state or local systems.

3) Institutions. Large public schools should decline. Small er private schools and “study groups with computers” should the new education system.

When I was in college, 50 years ago, I heard blacks represented 13% of the U.S. population then and I do not believe it. I suspect the number today is 17-18%, if not higher. Either that or Blacks are killing off each other at a rate that offsets their birthrate. I can’t accept that.

Yes, the "official" percentage numbers are highly suspect. As with the "12 Million" foreign nationals illegally in the country (as was reported for twenty years or so), any time a number remains static for a long time, it's probably being manipulated to avoid alarming the sheep.
