Restaurant chain Cracker Barrel announced Monday that its current chief executive officer, Julie Masino, will step down as CEO and board member, effective Aug. 10.
Cracker Barrel shared the news in a press release announcing David Deno as the company's new CEO and board member, effective the same date.
According to the release, Masino will remain with the company until Oct. 9 "in an advisory capacity."
Deno previously served as the CEO of Bloomin' Brands, the company behind Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba's Italian Grill, Bonefish Grill and more.
"Cracker Barrel is a truly iconic American brand, defined by its unique combination of warm country hospitality, timeless appeal, and deep connection with guests across generations," Deno said in part in a statement included in the release. "I am honored to lead the Cracker Barrel team and look forward to unlocking the full potential of this remarkable brand."

I liked the old CB, decades ago my wife worked there when a new CB opened up, food was good, got her through nursing school, though out restaurant was never remodeled, still has tobacco adds😂, we have ate there a couple of times recently and were disappointed both times 🤔
CB was great in the ‘80s. Now ... not so much.

Food industry is going to hell. Milk Bones just got tweaked. After being unavailable at Walmart for a week or so, the new batch arrived. Some of the box designs had changed. First warning. You can tell a feminized package design. You just can after you’ve seen the transition a hundred times. Some boxes still looked normal. Until you opened one. The treats themselves have changed. They’ve shrunk. They are now half the length and thickness they were only a week ago. I have to give my dogs two of them now to equal the weight of what they were getting before with one. What the heck is the purpose of that? Some new DEI manager making a name for herself is what.
Private equity firms purchasing our major restaurant chains is at the heart of the problem. They look at the bottom line and ignore what made the chain a desirable purchase in the first place.
All they continue serving prepared food that is served fresh from a microwave direct to diners?
If I wanted to eat that garbage I would visit the frozen food isle and skip their servers and decor.

You are thinking about the Milk Bones for dogs? If so, don’t give them to your dogs on a regular basis. It contains BHA (butylated hydroxyanisole), a synthetic preservative linked to cancer risks in animal studies.
The Costco equivalent does not have BHA and it’s less expensive. Better yet, try the chicken jerky and dental bones for healthy treats.
Also check to make sure the treats are made in the USA. Some are tricky with labeling. Right now, Costco is selling only US produced dog food and treats.
From the "country store" days before cardboard boxes, various dry foods would travel by stagecoach or train packed in barrels. The proprietor of a general store would set it on the floor of his store and take the top off the barrel for the customers. Goods transported that way included flour, oats, rice, beans, pickles, liquor, root beer, and seeds. There would be a scoop for things like flour and grains. Bags were made of cloth. I still treasure my several CDs of country gospel music I bought at a Cracker Barrel gift shop in the Carolinas. The food was just OK, but the gift shop was amazing.
