Explanation: What's happening in the Statue of Liberty nebula? Bright stars and interesting molecules are forming and being liberated. The complex nebula resides in the star forming region called RCW 57, and besides the iconic monument, to some looks like a flying superhero or a weeping angel. This re-assigned color image showcases dense knots of dark interstellar dust, fields of glowing hydrogen gas ionized by these stars, and great loops of gas expelled by dying stars. A detailed study of NGC 3576, also known as NGC 3582 and NGC 3584, uncovered at least 33 massive stars in the end stages of formation, and the clear presence of the complex carbon molecules known as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). PAHs are thought to be created in the cooling gas of star forming regions, and their development in the Sun's formation nebula five billion years ago may have been an important step in the development of life on Earth.

In he mid-ground Mrs. Pete saw a golden canopy shrouding a lady holding up a dog! I saw that, but also saw a Red Angus with a white face exiting a pile of red straw with front legs standing on a yellow gold frog! (Wild!)

I can see clearly that the statue of liberty is standing on top of a humongous cheeseburger. I knew it was in the photo somewhere.
Thank you for these wonderful images that you keep posting. Our world (including the universe) is amazing.
Reminds me of the scriptures where they will talk about looking up at the stars and how they point to a powerful and majestic Creator. And perhaps God thinking “You ain’t seen nothing yet!”
Shoot - I wonder if the early astronomers like Galileo thought there was this kind of stuff in the universe?

Galileo didn’t know about “galaxies” as we define them today. However, in 1610, he used his telescope to observe the Milky Way. He proved it wasn’t just a hazy cloud, but a massive collection of countless individual stars.
Galileo’s telescope observations completely overturned the ancient idea that the Milky Way was merely an atmospheric phenomenon or vapor. He concluded that it was a packed cluster of stars, as he noted: “The galaxy is, in fact, nothing but a congeries of innumerable stars grouped together in clusters.”
It wasn’t until the 1920s—long after his time—that astronomer Edwin Hubble proved the universe contains billions of other distinct galaxies.
