Trump, not Iran, is the world’s greatest danger. He’s a one-man weapon of mass destruction: As the bombing starts again, it’s clear the president has dragged the US into a limitless fiasco – and the world into an economic quagmire

Feckless and clueless, Donald Trump is lost in Iran, unable to find a way out of the disastrous war he started. Once again, the US military is pummelling the country and, increasingly, its civilian infrastructure. As before, this unlawful bludgeoning strengthens the resistance of a hardline regime that cares little for its people’s suffering. How often have Trump and Pete Hegseth, the Pentagon’s wildling lord of bones, hailed a bogus victory? The president claimed this week to be “winning big”. No one believes him. Even as it counts the vast human and economic cost of his Persian folly, a watching world scoffs at US impotence.

The anti Trumpers, as they ridicule Trump for stopping Iran’s 47 years of terrorism, never address the mess this world would be in if Iran was allowed to have nuclear weapons. That scenario would be a damned sight worse than what we currently face.

That’s two months of Iraniacs strengthening their defenses.
And of the US watching them move supplies from storage to deployment locations, while publicly giving Iran the chance to come to an agreement.

Or rather, the IGRC is showing so far that even with immense firepower you can’t actually conquer even an unpopular regime without a ground war.
The goal isn’t to conquer Iran. Should it be?

I know it is the Guardian, but where the h... is the "[BARF ALERT]"??
Now, to something funny. Not that many years ago Simon Tisdall (the author of this rant) was severely criticizised by fellow leftists for being an "armchair warrior" and "neocon". That was in 2013. Guess what war he was promoting then? It only took some 14 years to "conclude" and put a former al-Quada terrorist as the country's leader.

What's a wildling lord of bones, is that a good thing? It's the modern equivalent of "your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries!"
Very peculiar in their diction, these Britons!

But are they? We kept hearing over and over again that Iran was close to having nuclear weapons. After a while one gets skeptical.
First they tried to build a nuclear reactor to enrich materials, and that was blown up.
Then, they tried a vast underground centrifuge facility, which was sabotaged and wrecked.
Then they tried an isolated underground centrifuge facility with samples verified to >60% and at least one to 83%, which was bombed and the entrances collapsed.
Then as a start to negotiations they said they still had 400kg of 60% materials, and began both to dig out the collapsed facilities and to begin even deeper facilities likely beyond conventional means of attack.
And you doubt them why?

When Iran was attacked in February, they responded by attacking not only the US; not only the US allies; but everyone around.
Last year, they set their allies to attack ships from all nations passing by out of the Red Sea, without regard to whose ships.
Their ire is concentrated on Israel, but is not exclusive to them.
