Former CNN host and independent journalist Don Lemon claimed in a new interview that he’s “serious” about possibly running for president in the 2028 election — and insisted he’d be a “really good” commander-in-chief.
Lemon made the eyebrow-raising declaration on “Can’t Be Censored” podcast hosted by Karman Wong and Travis Dhanraj, insisting that everyone wants to know if he has White House aspirations.
“Do you have political ambition? Is that true?” Dhanraj asked on Wednesday’s show.
“No, but people keep asking me if I’m running for president,” Lemon answered.
“And I don’t know. I might. I’m serious. I don’t know. I might, because people keep asking me to do it, or if I’m going to do it.”
Lemon, 60, argued that experience isn’t necessarily a requirement to be commander-in-chief, citing President Trump’s lack of a political background before his election win in 2016.
Lemon went on to bash Trump, claiming the president “could have done a better job if he actually listened to people, but he doesn’t and he thinks he knows everything.”
“But, um, I actually think I would be a really good president of the United States,” he continued.

Folks think because Trump went from the media to the White House directly that they can do the same... its comical how little these folks understand or grasp what is or has actually gone on in the world.
There have always been famous people, who have been leverage their fame into a political career, however only 6 people in the history of the US have ever held the Presidency with no prior political experience, and 4 of them came from military backgrounds, with I believe the lowest military rank any of them had was Major General
They are in order:
George Washington
Zachary Taylor
Ulysses S Grant
Dwight D Eisenhower
The two not military folks are:
Herbert Hoover, who served as Secretary of Commerce, but was never elected to any office prior to the Presidency.
And finally
Donald J. Trump, who is the only person on the list, who didn’t come from a successful military background, or have at least some history, and never held a national post that could be tied to politics.
They think, because of their bias, that Trump is just “idiocracy”, and simply being famous will let them get to the white house.. Or at least make them relevant to white house run.. and they just don’t get it.
Yes there are people who have leveraged fame into politics... but generally this is to a house or senate seat or governorship to start, at best.. and even those examples while far more common, are not guaranteed. There are far more who tried an failed than succeeded at those things.
Having folk say, You should run.. does not a candidate make. Hell, I’ve been told I should run for office many times in conversations where politics are discussed. However, that’s a no go, beyond perhaps doing some time on my local borough council, not because I have a political itch, but because I just want to do my part to and give back to my community, I cannot see that as a viable career path for me in any way. I do not have the patience or charisma to even begin to delude myself into thinking I could run for a high office.. nor do I want to.
The thanklessness, particularly as someone who is more conservative ideologically, of being a politician at that level is something I would never ever want to deal with.
Anway, Lemon, has about as much chance as being relevant to any presidential election should he run, as I do being crowned miss universe, though the Woke crowd would probably be willing to give me the crown should I run even though I would look like a silverback in a evening gown, just so I could feel “included”..
I’ll make the same prediction about him as I’ve made for Kamala Harris: They will receive very few votes and neither one will win a single state.
