New guidelines have been released advising broadcasters on how to use more respectful camera angles when covering live female athletics events.
The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has worked with female athletes to develop the guidelines, which aims to avoid sexualising the action with unnecessary camera angles.

That reminds me, I need to get my watch fixed.
Son: Who won the race?
Dad: We all did son, we all did.
The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has more things to worry about other than camel toe.
Sexualization is the only good thing about women’s athletics. I wouldn’t watch women’s skating or gymnastics without the sexualization.
This should be a very informative thread. I look forward to being informed of all the highly informative information.
I quit watching sports back in the 80s.

seven? id give her an ate.
So now theres literally no reason to watch women’s beach volleyball
That ice skater with the patchy hair?
Killjoys.
And I rarely ever what “athletics” unless its on a hockey rink or ‘Merican football field. I don’t recall the last time I watched female athletes unless my daughter or granddaughter was competing.
Oh, don’t look at the scantily clad women with highly trained healthy bodies! The women’s bodies are actually doing the work at the events, but just don’t look at them! Avert your eyes or else!
It’s almost like the MEgan/Harry “We want privacy!” Tour lol
Soooo sick of this feminazi cr@p.
Put them all in burkas and be done with it.
[[There is no escape, there is no denying it. Resistance is futile.]]
An easy out is to reply “Honey honey honey, there’s nothing to be upset about. I stumbled across the photo and immediately thought how ugly she is compared to you. And by the way, your dress really looks nice on you now that you’ve put on a ton of weight. Lookin good babe”
Even a sexy female cartoon character is too much for some women to handle. Why that is I have no idea.
Camera angles? A serious discussion would start with the way female athletes dress. I doubt that this problem arises with female ice hockey players.
Soccer and track are both running sports. Players in both sports are highly fit. Soccer players, however, don’t dress like so many of the sprinters are now choosing to do.
There is no reason that female gymnasts, figure skaters, tennis players, etc. have to dress in skimpy outfits. That’s a deliberate choice. Some of it is driven by a pop culture of vulgarity. In some sports, maybe especially track, some of the men are dressing like underwear models as well. But the vulgarity in big time sports is also driven by money. The paparazzi were bad enough. The whole online influencer/clickbait economy monetizes the trend.
Maybe the female gymnasts should switch back to old fashioned gym shorts and baggy tee shirts. Maybe the men should as well. Swimmers and speed skaters dress aerodynamically. I’m not sure the functional calculus applies elsewhere.
Heck, start with the cheerleaders and halftime shows.
I know, I know ... no one would watch NFL games without semi nude cheerleaders and sexualized halftime shows. Let’s blame it on tv.
