Remember when a surprise Will Ferrell cameo was an automatic home run?

Monday night's Home Run Derby suggested those days may be long gone.

Netflix's "marquee" event featured not just the unpopular Elle Duncan, but Ferrell, whose routine quickly became one of the night's most dreaded moments at Citizens Bank.

Add Netflix's audio and crashing issues to the mix, and you've got two very skippable hours of television.

“I only thought he was funny in Elf, Old School, Talledega Nights,
Step Brothers, Ron Burgandy, Zoolander, and SNL,
but other than that I don’t know.”

One movie I really liked that he starred in was
“stranger than fiction”.
It has Emma Thompson and Maggie Gyllenhaal in it too.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0420223/

He plays a IRS agent with extreme OCD.
He is very calm though out the whole movie.
Walks and talks quietly.
One of the best scene is so sweet.
He’s fallen in love with Maggie, who is a baker, so he brings her flours.
He has a tray that has about 15 little bags of different flours.
It is such a thoughtful gift.

Yeh, he looks like a liberal woman in her 50s/60s.

All he needs is a cat and a box of wine.

I agree with you on Robin Williams. I also never liked the comedy of Johnathan Winters, who was one of his mentors... They both had to try too hard for a laugh, constantly doing dumb ad libs instead of having funny material.

The only thing I remember liking him in was “Moscow on the Hudson”. I found his break out role Mork in the TV show “Mork and Mindy” tedious at best. Everything else was pick up a book or change the channel.

I liked him in (the only 3 I could tolerate):
Insomnia (his best)
Dead Poets Society
Good Will Hunting

He did a pretty good William F Buckley impersonation.

Thanks for the link. I don’t think I ever saw that. I wasn’t an avid watcher of SNL. Haven’t watched it in at least 30 years or more.
