War is back on in Iran on Wednesday after Tehran launched attacks on trade vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. President Donald Trump said Wednesday that he considers the tentative ceasefire with Iran to be "over," telling reporters alongside NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte at the alliance's annual summit in Ankara, Turkey, that the agreement had become "a waste of time." "For me, I think it's over," Trump said.
"As far as I'm concerned it's just a waste of time." "They're liars," Trump said. "We make a deal. ... They go outside, talk to the press. They say, 'We never even talked about it.' ... As far as I'm concerned, it's over." He said U.S. negotiators could continue talks with Iran but predicted they would go nowhere. "They can talk, but I think they're wasting their time. They're liars, they're cheats. They're sick people." The comments came hours after the U.S. launched strikes on Iranian military targets and revoked a license authorizing the sale of Iranian oil, saying the moves were retaliation for Tehran's attacks on commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. Trump said the U.S. struck after Iran resumed attacks on ships despite being given time to conduct funeral ceremonies for Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The interim agreement between Washington and Tehran had been intended to reduce tensions and allow commercial traffic to resume through the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global shipping lane that carries roughly one-fifth of the world's traded oil. But Iran struck at least three commercial vessels transiting the waterway on Monday and Tuesday, prompting the U.S. military response. U.S. Central Command said American forces struck more than 80 Iranian targets, including air defense systems, radar sites and Revolutionary Guard vessels used to threaten shipping. Iran responded with strikes targeting U.S. military installations.

I’m not sure anyone is in charge by now. Being in charge is bad for your health in Iran. Iran shows their hand every time they launch an attack.

one idea that was posted here was to completely destroy their refining capacity ... leaves the oil production infrastructure intact for future use, yet would bring the military and government to its knees [just look at what happened to Hitler]
so, what’s your point? Oh, yeah, let Iran finish building enough nukes to start WWIII ...
Wouldn’t need an expensive MOAB with it’s personnel delivery system. Drones would do it. We already bombed the $hit out of them. There should be very few targets left. Where’s Israel in all of this?
They love the Stone Age so keep them there.
Just like Vance told him before the attack commenced, and for which Trump publicy questioned his loyalty and qulifications for 2028, it will take boots on the ground to locate and destroy enough of these to keep Hormuz open.
I love President Trump, but I think the "negotiations" should've been over long ago and perhaps they should never have started, at least not so early.

A 10’s on a strafing mission up and down the entire coast of Iran. Take out every dock, pier, repair facility, vessel, & vehicle. Eliminate their ability to enter the strait in any fashion.
Take out every bridge with dual use - and that's just about means every bridge. Segment Iran into many pieces.
Temporarily shut down the electric grid using carbon filament
air bursts.
Reimpose total economic warfare.
Start with that.

Iran has the upper hand at this point and certainly won’t be surrendering. Continuation of this war will result in a worldwide depression and Trump knows this. Additional bombing accomplishes nothing. Iran now controls the Strait of Hormuz and there’s not much we can do about it. It’s past time to cut bait and get out of there as no good military options remain. Like it or not Iran has emerged victorious as they have managed to survive while the US has been unable to achieve any of the goals it set for itself. It’s funny seeing how many freepers are unable to accept this reality.

Iran is as big as Alaska. Those in power, the IRGC - have redundant backup plans that provide them locations with generators and wells. Those in power don't give a rats ass about Iranians being without water and electricity. As said in an earlier post - when dealing with fanatics who don't value any life including their own - total annihilation is all that will dislodge them.
The underlying problem is Islam. When the Nazis were defeated, Nazism was outlawed and a denazification program was enforced. As long as Islam exists, it will produce crazies. After WW2, we didn't allow the Nazi and Shinto fanatics power - we imposed our will & military rule/government on them. Islam is what has created Muslim crazies for 1400 years. Today's batch includes: Al-Qaeda, the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL/Da'esh), Al-Shabaab, Boko Haram, Hezbolah......
Drop the bridges.
Bomb the electricity turbines.
Bomb the ribbon cutting ceremonies for either. Forever. Until they deliver their entire nuke and ballistic missile programs to U.S. lock stock and barrel.
Iran gets the Stone Age.
