War is back on in Iran on Wednesday after Tehran launched attacks on trade vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. President Donald Trump said Wednesday that he considers the tentative ceasefire with Iran to be "over," telling reporters alongside NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte at the alliance's annual summit in Ankara, Turkey, that the agreement had become "a waste of time." "For me, I think it's over," Trump said.
"As far as I'm concerned it's just a waste of time." "They're liars," Trump said. "We make a deal. ... They go outside, talk to the press. They say, 'We never even talked about it.' ... As far as I'm concerned, it's over." He said U.S. negotiators could continue talks with Iran but predicted they would go nowhere. "They can talk, but I think they're wasting their time. They're liars, they're cheats. They're sick people." The comments came hours after the U.S. launched strikes on Iranian military targets and revoked a license authorizing the sale of Iranian oil, saying the moves were retaliation for Tehran's attacks on commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. Trump said the U.S. struck after Iran resumed attacks on ships despite being given time to conduct funeral ceremonies for Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The interim agreement between Washington and Tehran had been intended to reduce tensions and allow commercial traffic to resume through the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global shipping lane that carries roughly one-fifth of the world's traded oil. But Iran struck at least three commercial vessels transiting the waterway on Monday and Tuesday, prompting the U.S. military response. U.S. Central Command said American forces struck more than 80 Iranian targets, including air defense systems, radar sites and Revolutionary Guard vessels used to threaten shipping. Iran responded with strikes targeting U.S. military installations.

Will he please finish the job now?
Behold, I see a hook for this cockeyed poster.
Consider the source...
The vessels were Qatari and Saudi in international waters
But you at least have to try in earnest to solve it through negotiating.
Maybe this is just Trump expressing his frustration and the negotiations are still ongoing? One can hope.
In either case, if we go after Iran and want to make sure they have a very hard time projecting force and developing a nuke, by denying them the ABILITY, it needs to be a (((near))) “total war” approach.
Total war: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Total_war
You have to damage/hurt them so badly, that they can't arm and send advisors for the Shia militias in Iraq, the Houti’s in Yemen, Hezbollah in Lebanon, the Muslim militias in Nigeria, build long range missiles in the numbers they once did, massive amounts of drones and most importantly a nuclear program.
To inflict that level of damage will inevitably mean the people of Iran suffer, even if you do not directly target them.
You have to inflict so much damage, that the government of Iran lacks the financial resources (destroy the economy), infrastructure, transportation, command and control, technical know how (go after scientists and engineers also), to be a regional threat.
That not only means bombs will miss targets and you have collateral damage (we have been bombing targets away from the populated areas for the most part - that will have to change), but you're going to inflict a level of pain on these people that causes them not to have electrical power, water, food...
What makes a ground war difficult, will make an air campaign easier. Iran, being highly mountainous (https://render.fineartamerica.com/images/rendered/default/poster/8/8/break/images/artworkimages/medium/3/iran-topographic-map-3d-render-neutral-border-frank-ramspott.jpg) relies heavily on dams, tunnels, bridges. Their economy is heavily oil dependent, which is easy to take out (refineries, pipelines, wells). The point being, this should not be an impossible task, just a very ugly one.
Pretty sure he knew it from the beginning. This was all in vain but had to be attempted. Hopefully now we will finish what is an unfortunate necessity, a lot of innocent people are going to suffer but there seems to be little choice left. Dying tyranny’s always lash out at the innocents.
Perhaps it should be demanded of Democrats and especially the Democrat Socialist wing, just what they would do to effectively PREVENT the possibility of an enormous escalation in the price of energy and what would only lead to inflation on a scale that would dwarf the Biden years.
Only by maintaining the access to the oil within the Strait of Hormuz do we have hope of avoiding the economic collapse of much of the world, on the short term. Once the pipelines that connect to the Red Sea and Arabian Gulf are in place, that will vastly reduce the pressure on the Strait of Hormuz, making any future closure much less meaningful.
Short-sighted as ever, a Democrat/Democrat Socialist majority in the House or possibly also in the Senate would foul up the reasonable and logical steps that must be taken. And what would be the advantage to that?
“so Trump just figured out these Iranians are NUTS”
Give a man enough rope and he’ll hang himself. Trump has been sending Iran a lot of rope.
LOL
The mullahs in Iran won’t stop their fanatic behavior without a nuke. They are worse than Japanese leaders of WW-II era by orders of magnitude.
WW2 Nazis and militaristic State Shinto were fanatical in they were willing to fight to the last German and Japanese man woman and child. Absent occupying Germany with Allied soldiers and nuking Japanese cities, the Axis would not have unconditionally surrendered. IMHO, unless the U.S. and/or Israel are willing to annihilate Iran, the IRGC will not surrender or cooperate. It's a fool's errand to think otherwise.
NBC headlined this as “Trump kills his own ceasefire agreement”. Yeah, like Iran shooting at everybody had nothing to do with it. Just when you think they can’t go any lower, they break out the shovels.

The only person with a crooked view is you, sweetie.

“The Farsi people are held hostage in their own land.”
Oddly enough, they’re held hostage by their own people.
“Drill baby drill”
Oh wait❓ Somebody forgot that❓ Maybe global Trumperville.
Yes, and why the target redundancies.❓
Establish a ‘safe area’ to arm the Iranian people, give them air support and cover and let them take city by city from the IRGC. It’s that simple. Not easy, but simple.
the only thing they understand is force
When the bad guys embed themselves with civilians it’s a tricky thing.
The north Vietnamese did that and look how that turned out
