Hahahahaha, I remembered that!!!
Does the movie show how Washington started the first ever World War by firing on a French soldier during the French & Indian War?
Did you tour the Slave Market museum?
My constant memory from it was the tightness of the black families...and how that has been lost since the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
Thank you!
Thanks for the heads-up, just booked tickets for 7:30 tonight (wife doesn't like fireworks).
A good follow up from viewing the movie would be to watch/listen to Mike Rowe’s podcast interview with Jon Erwin that was posted yesterday. Interesting and worth the time, IMO. In the conversation, Erwin reveals that his grandfather received the Medal of Honor in WW2 for heroism on a bombing run in a B-29. Rowe encourages Erwin make that story his next film.
The victim and oppressor game is a requirement to receive grants. I learned more about how many times each slave wiped their ass than Thomas Jefferson himself. I overheard one of the volunteers openly complain about it.
It does address that story, says after surrender the French tricked him into signing a false confession. Also said Noone knew who fired the first shot.
