I read the title of the story and one word came to me, GOOD!!!!!
Sometimes going Old Testament is the solution...
The pastor would say that he said it, and the jerk would deny it. Over and over again.
“There are NO words that justify a response of physical violence......NONE“
That’s an absolute and there aren’t a hell of a lot of those.
Anyone making that threat to me is going down on the spot. I don’t care who it is. It’s not like I can guard my family 24/7/365.
I can see how that could happen. I get those two things mixed up all the time.
He better hope and pray that he can prove the threats were uttered.
Nothing better than a good piece of pine.
I watched several times. The creep swung on the pastor first.
Why wasn’t the 20 year old creep arrested, he threw the first punch.
A blind squirrel finds an acorn once in a while. Of all people, 0bama’s favorite author Maya Angelou said if someone says they hate you believe them
Well, this Catholic supports the pastor.
He warned the guy, but the guy needed sense knocked into him.
Acquit the pastor
The punk was videoing with his phone the whole time, although he finally dropped it after the 2nd or 3rd punch.
He needed killing.
My family is involved.
The pastor was merciful, he did chastise the brigand by smiting him hip and thigh.......
Assault legally includes verbal Assault.
“Assault legally includes verbal Assault”
With all due respect, I find that difficult to believe.
First off, even if that were accurate, it would depend on state law.
Second, then why was he arrested and charged with second-degree battery?
arrested and charged with second-degree battery
Because he hit someone after being verbally assaulted.
Simple Assault:
Simple assault is usually defined as an act that causes someone to fear physical harm or injury. An example of simple assault could be an individual threatening to punch someone in the face, even if they never carry out the threat. Physical contact doesn’t have to occur with simple assault charges, and simple assault charges can also include actions like slapping or shoving someone.
Aggravated Assault:
Aggravated assault, on the other hand, is a much more severe charge. Aggravated assault typically involves the use of a weapon and/or severe bodily injury of another person. Examples of aggravated assault include the use of a knife, gun, or other deadly weapon to threaten or attack another person. Assault can also be classified as aggravated if the victim is an on-duty police officer, public servant, or a family member, or the victim is a child or elderly person.
Consequences of Simple Assault:
Simple assault is usually considered a misdemeanor , but it can escalate to a felony charge depending on the circumstances. Misdemeanor assault charges can result in up to a year in jail and a $4,000 fine. If the act of violence was committed against specific individuals, such as a healthcare provider, correctional officer, or family member, a simple assault charge can become a felony. The consequences of a felony assault charge can include jail time for up to twenty years or life in prison.
His arrest contradicts your argument.
Law enforcement must have been confident enough to arrest with no concern about a lawsuit for false arrest.
What are you talking about.
He was verbally assaulted.
He physically assaulted in return.
Cops arrested him and courts will decide.
