"Free thought" is a philosophical viewpoint which holds that positions regarding truth should be formed on the basis of logic, reason, and empiricism, rather than authority, tradition, revelation, or dogma.

Trump knew from the outset he would lose this case. What he wanted was a reading from the Supreme Court as to whether Congress could end birthright citizenship, or whether the 14th Amendment would have to be repealed or modified. It was the latter.

Considering that the 14th has been used for all kinds of constitutional mischief (One Man/One Vote, abortion), it needs to go or be narrowly focused.

My initial reaction also. I’ll sit on this for a few days to see if I can make sense of any of it.

We’ll find out in the next couple of months if this is going to depress the republican vote in the midterms and the election in ‘28, when we will have to decide if there is any chance to fix this peaceably.

BHO just breathed a huge sigh of relief. If they can’t get birthright citizenship right, there’s no hope of them getting natural born citizen right.
