The Great Awakening ('Freedom of Thought’), was designed and created not only as a backchannel to the public (away from the longstanding ‘mind’ control of the corrupt & heavily biased media) to endure future events through transparency and regeneration of individual thought (breaking the chains of ‘group-think’), but, more importantly, aid in the construction of a vehicle (a ‘ship’) that provides the scattered (‘free thinkers’) with a ‘starter’ new social-networking platform which allows for freedom of thought, expression, and patriotism or national pride (the feeling of love, devotion and sense of attachment to a homeland and alliance with other citizens who share the same sentiment).
When ‘non-dogmatic’ information becomes FREE & TRANSPARENT it becomes a threat to those who attempt to control the narrative and/or the stable.
When you are awake, you stand on the outside of the stable (‘group-think’ collective), and have ‘free thought’.
"Free thought" is a philosophical viewpoint which holds that positions regarding truth should be formed on the basis of logic, reason, and empiricism, rather than authority, tradition, revelation, or dogma.
When you are awake, you are able to clearly see.
The choice is yours, and yours alone.
Trust and put faith in yourself.
You are not alone and you are not in the minority.
Difficult truths will soon see the light of day.

Absolutely very familiar with what your son and his lineman cohorts do. Is he a lineman in Canada? Sounds like a relatively small outfit/utility - perhaps a local co-op or city utility.
What I did in Transmission operations was directly tied to the safety and effectiveness of the work of linemen, electricians, everyone involved with the electric transmission system (I had done the distribution side of things back in the early/mid 90s but a promotion opportunity moved me to transmission a couple of years later).
One of the things that goes on with jobs like these are that they’re most often union jobs. And many members of the union work in lockstep with whatever the union tells them to do. So if the union says “get the jab for your own good”, they believe it. Many, but not all, believe the union is almost god-like. And some will put on the “pro-union” show in public, but denounce it in private. Political maneuvering.
I was in the union in Cleveland some decades ago - a very ungrateful bunch, the union leadership. But at least in the trades, they do have good apprenticeship programs. IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) trains well, though our union was UWUA (Utility Workers Union of America) and represented ONLY company employees. In our case, the company did the training.
At TVA, surprisingly, it was an open shop - you did NOT have to join the union if you didn’t want to. I was in management there so that option wasn’t on the table, though I would not have joined most likely anyway. Anyway, a LOT of TVA’s linemen were non-union, same with substation and plant electricians. But a lot were. Kept the union more honest IMHO. I wouldn’t have been in the union in Cleveland for my first 12 years if it wasn’t a requirement for employment in those particular jobs.

I waffle between guilt for the advice I gave that made his work life uncomfortable and extreme joy that I know the same advice saved him from who even knows what? Each jab came with its own safety profile because the composition of the lots were so different. Maybe he’d have received a safe one, maybe he’d have received one that would have harmed him forever. Thinking he might have received a safe one is the thought that gives me the most discomfort because it would mean he sacrificed a more pleasant work life for no real danger, but it’s impossible to know. I’m reminded of the bowl of skittles where only one is poisoned. You just can’t risk eating any one of them. One of these days, we’ll be in a position to speak privately about his current situation and I may come away from that chat with a bit more peace.
The author of that piece appears to be just another never Trumper from the stories on his webpage. He has the pedigree. Lately, I take everything with a grain of salt rather than jump in as I previously have done.
Yes, he’s a “power line technician”, or what the rest of us refer to as a linesman. He’s part of a small crew in the lower Niagara Peninsula that services customers who get their electricity from the Niagara Falls. It is indeed a union job and the crew is furious that the clerical support staff are also part of their union. Not sure how that came to be. The linesmen complain all the time that the clerks/office support staff often have interests that conflict with those of the linesmen and they’re roughly equal in numbers.
His company mandated the jabs without consulting the union and my understanding is that it was primarily because the CEO at the time was a Newfie who had an immunologically-comprised daughter and he was a true covid believer. The union actually fought for my son and hired an arbitrator who got him his job back after being the lone hold-out and laid off for 5 months. I have never been so proud of him in my life for his demonstration of courage and integrity. I know well what it cost him then and now. I gave him and his wife a very generous wedding gift in the form of a cheque, so he’s been made more than whole again, but there’s no way I can fix the damaged work relationships. And Moms like to fix everything 😊

Wow - an interesting relationship. It’s not unheard of, but uncommon for the Union to fight on the right side of things. Well, it does happen, but they usually (at least in my experience) take the anti-company-at-all-costs stance. In your son’s case, the company was wrong.
I was going to say that he could relocate and work in the US, but he would definitely have to be a legal immigrant, especially if he worked for a government agency like TVA or Bonneville Power Authority. Can’t speak for all utilities, but I’m obviously in favor of legal immigration only.
For now, the best he can probably do is avoid the “told-you-so” approach even though he was clearly right about this. Perhaps leaving the occasional anonymous tidbit of fact out where others can see it, without getting into a discussion. I’m sure that there are a couple of co-workers with whom he can confide also, even if the majority seem to be taking the wrong side.

Incidentally, my sister, brother in law, niece, her husband, and their young son were all at Niagara Falls a couple of weeks ago. They stayed on the Canadian side, at one of the Fallsview Hotels (can’t remember which one), on something like the 35th floor, overlooking the falls. My niece’s husband is more or less taking over the family business and had a LOT of perks saved up which got them the opportunity to stay there.
Incredibly nice view of both the Canadian and US falls, plus they toured the “old” power plant and power station tunnel, which they all enjoyed. Also had some Tim Horton’s coffee. :)
