Disgraced former Arcadia mayor Eileen Wang entered her plea today in federal court following the bombshell admission that she was a spy for China.
Wang pleaded guilty on Friday after taking a plea deal with the Department of Justice, admitting that she had acted as an illegal agent of the People’s Republic of China (PRC), ABC7 reported.
Wang agreed with prosecutors that she worked with the PRC to boost propaganda with a fake news website on US soil between 2020 and 2022. She was elected to the city council in Arcadia — a city in the San Gabriel Valley within LA County — in November 2022.
Wang, 58, worked with her then-fiancé, Yaoning “Mike” Sun, on a website called “U.S. News Center,” which claimed to be a news source for Chinese Americans, according to court documents.
But in reality, the pair were carrying out Beijing’s orders through the site.
Wang and Sun “executed directives” from the Chinese government, posting propaganda designed to boost China, all while reporting back to their masters with screenshots showing how many people viewed the stories, according to the plea agreement.
Sun was arrested and federally charged with acting as a covert agent of the PRC in 2024. He was later sentenced to four years in prison.
Earlier this month, the DOJ unsealed Wang’s federal charges for acting as an unregistered agent of the PRC and also released her signed plea deal.
After the charges were unsealed, Wang resigned from the Arcadia City Council, vacating her job as mayor of the Southern California town.

She is 100% Chinese, born in China, I don’t know why she calls herself Eileen. What I want to know is WHY the hell are we still allowing Chinese into the country when we damn well know they can be required to spy by the Chinese government? How many times has this happened already? And here we got one not only in the country with orders to spy, but incredibly she’s elected to political office!

It occurred to me that her surname, Wang, would be the past tense for Wong, meaning she did Wong. Since she has Wung, Eileen towards her being punished, so that her Wanging would be in the past, she could be rehabilitated, and not Wang again. If she doesn't pay her fine, however, we would have to place Eileen on her property.

Media reports confirm she became a citizen in the years after moving to California from China’s Sichuan province, though no public record specifies the exact date of her naturalization ... was approximately 27 or 28 years old when she arrived in the United States.

A couple days or so after the 2020 election, my brother posted on his Facebook page how he was a lifelong republican, came from a family that was solidly republican going back generations, how he “loved and revered” the GOP, but switched to the democratic party and voted for Biden. How his party switch caused him consternation and trouble from his own family, how he was a live and let type of nice guy who doesnt deserve what his family is dishing out.
Problem is that its all lies. The family (going back generations) and him were always Democrat. Our grandfather for example, was an FDR man. The very last time he voted, I was the one who took him in his wheelchair to the polling place and watched him vote a straight democrat ticket.
I was the first and only Republican in my family. My choice of party caused no trouble for me with my democrat family because my family isnt political in that we never talk politics with each other and they couldnt care less.
