I know it's not a full EV. Pretty sure it's gasoline only.
I have a now 2 year old Chrysler Pacifica Plug In Hybrid. I think it is the best car we have ever bought. It only goes 30 to 35 miles on the battery before the engine starts and takes over. We take a lot of long trips, Kentucky to south Florida, 1020 miles each way. While we take a lot of long trips, we already have over 50,000 miles on it a lot of our driving is short local trips where the engine doesn’t even start. We often go for weeks without putting gas in it. When we do drive on gas it only gets about 30mpg but it is a very big car and can comfortably carry 7 people.
We really like it and would buy another one but Chrysler has stopped making it. When I get the next new car it will be a plug in hybrid. Since I have solar on both houses, (KY and FL) my local driving is really cheap.
I guess when they start selling electric cars that charge in 5 minutes and go 700 miles on a charge I will take a look but until then I like my plug in hybrid.
I have a 2025 Santa Fe hybrid. No issues except a couple very minor recalls.
No issues. Gets at least 32 MPG on the highway and closer to 40 around town.
Replaced my Ford Flex - that Ford no longer makes. I need a lot of cargo space behind the front seats for migrating back and forth to Florida with another person, our dog and all the trimmings. The Flex, which we loved got 22 MPG.
The primary US manufacturing facilities that make and assemble Kia and Hyundai vehicles are located in Alabama and Georgia. Together, they produce hundreds of thousands of vehicles for the North American market
On my second Tesla and when my ICE car dies, Im getting a 3rd.
Its a bummer they are painfully ugly to look at, but for a daily driver nobody makes a better one.
That said, I wouldn't recommend an EV for every scenario, like if you don't drive enough miles for the savings in gas to add up. And I don't think I'd like an EV as an only car (thus we sometimes depend on our gas pickup). And an EV works best if you can set up home charging, which some people can't do. And I'm not sure about driving an EV on long trips in the winter up north (which we don't do, but if we change our mind we have the gas pickup).
So there are many scenarios IMHO that an EV isn't good for. But for us it's great.
With all we know about cars for so long now... why anyone buys anything other than Toyota or Lexus is beyond me. Gen 3 and 4
4Runners here plus a 04 Gx470. Son has an ES330. My other son has a D21 Hardbody. Ts 94 back when Nissan made quality vehicles. There’s a 99 Suburban here too with a 454 225k miles and is a constant headache. My Gen 3 4Runner is pushing 300k on timing belts and wires plugs coil pack replacement. Wife’s Gen 4 has been flawless at 260K now and my GX at 225k. I won’t buy anything newer than mid 2000s. Looking for another Gen3 4Runner and another D21.

I have ridden in my sister’s Model 3 often, then one day, HOLEY MOLEY! She hammered it, two motor AWD 500 HP all at once, and not much noise!!!
Always been into bikes; cars were a way to keep dry. My R65 Airhead would have still been in the intersection, and we were gone...

I sure wish Toyota hadn't gone all-in on small turbocharged engines and hybrid systems. I'd love another naturally-aspirated, bulletproof V6 in an RX-350 or 4Runner, but I'll have to find a gently used CPO to stay with designs I trust.
Or maybe a new Honda Passport, since that has no hybrid version at all, and only comes with a V6, non-turbo (and a 10-speed automatic, non-CVT). I know that Honda's star has dimmed lately, too - but that vehicle seems to be aimed directly at me as a consumer.
Several GM trucks from around 2015 (I think) had to have the front bumper cover removed, so the grill could be removed, then the headlight assemblies could be removed and the bulbs replaced. This was deliberate.
That’s my my reason for getting a hybrid. Wanting at least 40 mpg. When I bought my 2012 Sportage EX it was advertised as 28 city and 32 highway. Never got anywhere near that and I found out to drive at 60mph on the highway will get near 30 with nothing in the car and using hypermiling tchniques like coasting in neutral to stop lights and stop signs, and pulse and glide cruising.
