U.S. — In a move that even some within the entertainment industry are branding as "too far", director Christopher Nolan has cast actor Steve Buscemi as Helen of Troy.
Though Nolan has made several unorthodox casting decisions for his upcoming movie The Odyssey, none have raised as many eyebrows as casting Buscemi in the role of the most beautiful woman on the planet.
"Steve's is the face that launched a thousand ships," declared Nolan upon making the announcement. "I could never imagine anyone else playing Helen. The moment we started on the Odyssey, my first call was to Steve. I said, 'Steve, I need you to be my Helen'. I'll never forget his response, he said, 'What the heck are you talking about?' What about Robin hood prince of thieves?
Alan Rickman knew it was idiotic Kevin Costner slop so he, Alan, decided to play an over the top Sheriff of Nottingham!
Alan Rickman famously found the original script so bland that he secretly worked with playwright friends to completely rewrite and ad-lib his own lines. This rebellion resulted in some of the film’s most legendary dark-comedy threats, including his famous line:
“Cancel the kitchen scraps for lepers and orphans, no more merciful beheadings, and call off Christmas!”.
“Locksley, I’m going to cut your heart out....with a spoon”
*with a spoon has been my go-to ever since and I’m beyond caring who “ gets it” or not.
I’ll just snicker to myself.
😬
hah Con Air
“ I suppose The Babylon Bee could do something on that, too...”NDS”!”
I think they just did
