Trying to Get Through to My Liberal Friends = On certain topics liberal ability to reason seems to break down.

I have a couple of friends who are liberals -- not those liberals who have reached what I call “the incurable terminal stage.” Nor are they the psychotics who, the moment they are exposed to facts or viewpoints different from theirs become wild-eyed and hysterical. Even so, on certain topics their ability to reason seems to break down.

A couple of months back, the issue of illegal aliens came up. They voiced the usual talking points on the topic: the aliens are just trying to build a better life, they pay taxes, only a few commit crimes, etc. They did not state they are being kidnapped and put in concentration camps. I countered with the usual arguments: they have entered the country illegally, many are engaged in horrific crimes, they are using up the welfare system, that Democrats have been employing illegal aliens to engage in fraudulent elections.

Nothing works.

So I’ve decided on a different tack. Since we were scheduled to meet in a month, I would record the number of crimes committed by illegal aliens in one month.

Even I was shocked:

- A Pakistani killed an American in a head-on collision.

- A Guatemalan raped an underage girl in Florida.

- Another Guatemalan murdered a young teenage boy, luring him with the promise of sex.

- In South Carolina, an illegal immigrant who was so drunk he could not stand was driving a vehicle and killed two black children on their bicycles.

= In a San Antonio, Texas park, an illegal immigrant punched a Mexican-American mother in the face, then proceeded to bite the face of her three-year-old daughter, who also lost two teeth.

- An illegal alien from El Salvador stabbed to death two women at a Wendy’s. ..............

I rarely meet liberals anymore. Almost everyone is a mind-hive Democrat. A liberal would say “Believe the victims”. A Democrat will say it until a Democrat gets caught and then they quit saying it.

The few liberals I meet are usually elderly and still support a woman’s right to an abortion. Democrats believe in everyone’s right to an abortion, even men.

Before covid I never would have believed how persuadable many Americans are.

Case in point:

I have an uber lib biden lover across the street that dutifully went out and got his 1st covid shot when taterhead told him to, and then like a mindless lemming, later got a booster....again because biden said to.

Since those 2 shots he has been diagnosed with AFIB, has had to have a pacemaker implanted and recently received his SECOND ablation......but I’m sure there is no connection. 😏

He used to participate in 5k and 10k runs.

Now hes lucky if he can walk around the block.

I’ve found so many to be close- mined, preferring to shout over opponents instead of debating, refusing to listen to any other opinion other than their own. They are impervious to facts, data and logical reasoning.

I am friends with none of them - and those in my family I spend as little time as possible with those who have TDS, have been brainwashed by lefty talking points - or believe those who do not agree with them are evil.

I used to have lib hobby friends. Covid came around, the libtard ringleader announced we’d all be getting the vaccine to meet again. Not me though….so I was cancelled and left behind in the dust. Funny thing is…I built and maintained all their hobby related infrastructure. Since I left it’s all fallen apart.

In my experience, liberals and even “progressives” with a modicum of knowledge are willing to semi-rationally engage in discussion some issues, e.g. taxes, welfare policy, and other economic matters. Where they completely shut down and degenerate into “four legs good, two legs bad” sloganeering and groupthink is any discussion related to racial issues - e.g. DEI as discrimination against whites, black crime statistics, Third World immigration, etc. The reason seems to be that anti-white bigotry and promotion of identity politics among “minorities” is the true defining issue of the left these days, as opposed to economic policy or even welfare.
