Looks like the BMW αsshole turned left in front of the bike.

Classic cage driver stunt, especially BMW drivers in their self important bubble.

Rider should have been prepared to deal with that sort of idiot.

Jon: Ponch, she was hot but not that hot. Stop chasing them and get back to police work.

“Wow, a motorcycle stuck atop a traffic light support! I wasn’t looking the first time - do it again!”

My thoughts exactly... When are these people going to learn where to park?

While it’s unlikely (though not impossible) that the bike flipped up there from the crash, I can more easily believe that than that somebody just happened to be there with a crane of some sort and lifted the bike and hung it there without anyone noticing.

Probably.

But given the launch upward, methinks the bike was going considerably faster than what looks like at most a 35 mph zone.

I worked with a guy who was a Redwood City motor cop, and did some work up on Skyline Blvd. in Woodside. He said they would find a motorcycle off the road and the rider up in a tree 300 feet away. Some guys like to go really fast up there.

When I got back from the hospital after Vietnam, I pulled my trusty Honda Scrambler from my parent's garage and went to my girlfriend's house in Burbank.

My right leg was still encased in a leg brace, so I had to ride more cautiously since the right leg is normally used for the rear brake so that meant I had only the front brake available.

While I was waiting for her to be ready, I rode the bike up her driveway - which was on a steep incline - up the hill, and then I pulled in the clutch and rode backwards down the hill and the back up again.

My girlfriend's dad comes out and asked if he can do that. I asked him if he'd ridden a bike before and he said "sure" and I gave him my bike as I made sure he knew where the shifter, clutch and brakes were.

He sat on the bike after I started it and waited for a while. I figured he needed a little help, so I pushed the shift lever to 1st gear and he shot up the hill toward the end of his driveway and a cinderblock wall. I ran after him, yelling "pull in the clutch!" but ran full tilt into the wall. He was knocked off on impact, the block wall had a motorcycle-sized hole in it and my bike was lodged in the branches of his tree hanging by the handlebars, engine screaming.

I switched the bike off and took him the hospital in his car (cinderblock on the hood of his car) for his dislocated elbow and various other injuries and oddly enough, the relationship with his daughter took a dive.

Back in the early 70s a riding acquaintance of mine had bought a Moto Guzzi. In those days those bikes had serious steel gas tanks. He ended up running into the side of a truck that cut him off at an intersection. The Tank had an indentation the size of your fist from his genitalia. He basically couldn’t walk for weeks and I always wondered if he was able to father any children after that, jeez. And his front tire rim looked almost rectangular.

Well a pirate went into a bar one time with a steering wheel coming out the front of his pants. The bar tender asked “You’ve got a steering wheel coming out of your pants?” The pirate replied “It’s driving me nuts! Arrg”

I witnessed a pretty horrific motorcycle accident the week before last where the bike went airborne. He was going probably 50 mph and T-boned an SUV that was crossing the intersection. I saw later on the local news that he had run the red light. He was in his 60’s riding a Harley. He and the bike went probably 7 or 8 feet in the air — well above the roofline of the SUV. They came to rest about ten feet apart with him sprawled in a contorted pose and not moving. Some people in a nearby vehicle got out and looked at him but he was clearly a goner. They called the police, then got a blanket and covered him.
