The suspect in the White House Correspondents' Dinner shooting has been identified as a California teacher.

Cole Tomas Allen, 31, from Torrance, California is the alleged shooter who opened fire at the Washington Hilton on Saturday night.

The educator from the Los Angeles area faces firearms and assault charges after he allegedly breached a security checkpoint and exchanged gunfire with law enforcement.

Police revealed the suspect had a number of weapons on him including a shotgun, handgun and multiple knives.

President Trump shared a stunning image shortly after the shooting, showing the suspect shirtless and lying face down on the carpet.

Law enforcement confirmed he was not struck by gunfire while being stopped but has since been taken to the hospital for evaluation.

Itis understood Allen may have been a guest at the Hilton hotel where the event was taking place.

Surveillance video shows the suspect sprinting past a security checkpoint and attempting to reach the doors to the ballroom where the president was gathered along with his most senior cabinet members and thousands of journalists.

So a teacher from California booked a room at the Washington Hilton at $250 a night, drove across the country because it’s difficult to fly with guns, checked in and the went to his car to retrieve the guns. No problem carrying through the hotel?

There are a number of people who are just incompetent in life.

There are many of his generation that are victims of the "participation trophy" philosophy.

They were taught as children that no matter how little effort they put in to a task, they deserve success.

Just from that brief history and having raised kids in that period, I read the pattern.

And naturally these forever teens have to blame others for their failure. Might as well blame someone successful, rich and the guy trying to eliminate the Department of Education.

There are a number of people who are just incompetent in life.

There have always been a number of people who didn’t get off the ground floor of life. People who never left home or ones who were mostly isolated. People who didn’t talk much. The Bo Ridleys of all the neighborhoods. The people who went to work in the back rooms of companies and punched in and out. The constant drinkers who drown their anxieties.
The people who built match villages and elaborate railroads at home. Who at the turn of the 20th century lived in my great grandfather’s basement and stoked the furnace and shoveled the walks.

He’s high yellow...but you are right that doesn’t matter. Besides, it was probably the white part of him that did this.

We used to call that "High Yaller" where I grew up.

As for the part of him responsible for doing this: Yeah, the media will probably play up his "White" upbringing, and Newsweek will lighten his complexion à la OJ Simpson.

I wasn't arguing that there was not.

My statement was meant to convey that the education system that they grew up in was designed to manufacture failure by discouraging effort.

As for the people living in your great-granfather's basement, that was a period similar to today when there had been a great influx of cheap labor (the Irish and Italian migrations).

But at that time there was no social safety net available to those immigrants.

These people and any other low skilled people took whatever jobs they could find and survived day by day.

Failure was homelessness and starvation.

Finding the time and the money to build some kind of success was difficult in the extreme for these people who were mostly illiterate and fighting prejudice of the worst kind.
