An inconvenient truth.

Hmm. I’d read about the new translation several weeks back and added it to my wishlist. It’s still there, and the book is still available for purchase. Perhaps the author was trying to purchase it via an overseas Amazon site where it’s been banned.

One of the most prophetic book you’ll ever read!

This is the first time I've heard of Amazon refusing to sell a book for political reasons. Not surprising given Jeff Bezos' political views and a bad omen - I wonder what the next book on the chopping block will be. The upside to the story is that in the end Amazon wants to make money, so they may sell books that Bezos and CEO Jassy dislike if there's enough backlash.

The Camp of Saints is one of the more prophetic political works out there, even more so than Orwell's 1984 or Huxley's Brave New World, since it describes the existential threat facing the western world today so accurately.

The Left read ‘1984’ and ‘Camp of the Saints’ as instruction manuals...

I first read “Camp of the Saints” some 30 years ago and it is even more prophetic today. Another book worth reading is “Submission “ by French author, Michel Houellebecq. The novel imagines an Islamist Muslim party winning the French presidential election with the support of the Socialist Party.

Can’t Amazon just use AI to rewrite the offensive parts?

That is the great benefit of digitized books. /s

Another excellent read is The Strange Death of Europe: Immigration, Identity, Islam by Douglas Murray

Bragging here, but I read the book in its original French. It was written at the beginning of the Muslim invasion.

Visiting France 5 years later I found concerning the number of Muslim young and not-so-young just hanging around, living off the system. Raspail’s novel sadly was coming true.

The Camp of the Saints--or le camp des saints--is one of the most important and prescient books of the 20th century. To ban it would be like banning 1984 or Animal Farm. For Amazon to do so is just plain silly. A bunch of morons must be in charge there.

I downloaded and read the book some time ago probably from reading about it on FR. There is supposed to an edition out that is better translated than the one I read. I ordered a copy yesterday from the publisher (Itasca Books).

Just for general information I’ve been seeing this situation on X. It’s old news now and Amazon relisted it.

Doesn't matter if Amazon bans it or not:

Widely available on the internet at no charge.
