The same civilization that produced the scientific method, actuarial science, and data-driven medicine now treats the act of noticing statistical trends as a moral failing — provided those trends involve race. Pattern recognition is not a political act. It is how your brain keeps you alive. Doctors diagnose disease with it. Generals anticipate attacks through it. Every competent investor in the history of capital markets has made money using it. Information theory research estimates that human senses gather roughly 11 million bits of data per second from the environment, whereas the conscious mind processes only about 50. The gap between those numbers is filled by pattern recognition running silently in the background.
Here is the question polite society has decided is too dangerous to pose: Does applying this universal cognitive faculty to demographic data constitute racism, or does refusing to examine that data constitute intellectual cowardice?

Intelligence as such is racist.
So is the Bell Curve.
It’s not racist to notice that single parent families have higher murder/crime rates.
Facts are inconvenient, but helpful if we are looking for a solution. Retribution isn’t a solution.
One statistic that blows my mind is that black women have a higher homicide rate than white men (per capita, of course).

There is no cure for inequality
There are valid reasons things were the way they used to be.

That’s what is known as “The Map”. If you overlay a map with pretty much every negative data you can think of, drug use, crime, illiteracy, etc. it will coincide almost exactly with the black population distribution in the U.S.

Which is why the media many times now refuse to give description of perps during news stories....even if they know the race.
My local lib news stations are notorious for it.

I’ve been quoting FBI Crime statistics about blacks committing more than half of murders since about mid-January!
