A huge reason why there's this rift on the Right that didn't exist a year ago is because Neocons are not team players.
They operate as political parasites, using our candidates and elected officials for their own ends without ever reciprocating anything in return.
This isn't how stable political coalitions work. The entire point is that you join forces with people you may not agree with 100% of the time, but you still fight for their priorities so they will fight for yours.
But Neocons like to pretend they're above all of that. They're a single-issue constituency. They will bounce between the Populist Right and Establishment Left so long as they get what they want.
Case in point, many Neocons bitterly opposed Trump all three times he ran for office, and yet the moment the US began bombing Iran and delivering on the crown jewel that many of them had been working towards for over 25 years, did they turn around and repay the favor by supporting anything that Trump's base voted for?
Of course not. The SAVE Act is still languishing in the Senate despite 100% of the GOP and 80% of the public wanting it to pass. Meanwhile, Neocons in Congress are signing on to a mass amnesty for criminal aliens bill and calling it "Dignity", despite stricter immigration arguably being THE signautre issue that Trump campaigned on and his base voted for three times in a row.
The lesson here is simple. You cannot ally yourself with Neocons. Ever. They do not understand or care about the concept of political loyalty. They're bad actors who only care about permanent regime change wars abroad and will backstab you at home the moment you give them what they want.
Working with Neocons is like "uniting with the Left".
It wasn’t about the neocons. It was about Trump getting carried away. Whatever your philosophy or convictions, when you become president the power you have can go to your head.
“A rift on the Right”? The only rift here is between those of us who still have functioning testosterone and a sense of raw American survival instinct, and you isolationist purity cultists who’d rather be chanting “America First” like it’s some magic incantation that stops Iranian nukes and proxy armies. Real America First isn’t about choosing between securing the border and smashing enemies who threaten the lifeblood of the global economy. It’s about doing both—without turning into either neocon nation-building freaks or isolationist ostriches with heads buried so deep in the sand their asses are waving at satellites.
“Iran signed the nuclear non-proliferation treaty and allowed inspectors in their country.”
And of course, they allowed full a free inspections across the country - NOT! Also, unlike other countries, their fanatic religious beliefs include ending the world to bring about their Paradise. Hmmmm...
“And it’s not an “Epstein Fantasy”.”
ANYONE who uses Epstein to attack Trump is a moron conspiracy nut. Oh wait:
“Both sides of the Uniparty have co-opted the United States against the will of We The People.”
Then you are well and truly FUCKED because everyone is against you! And we don’t have elections, just...secret people pulling the strings!
Joos, by any chance?
I agree with everything you said. I do provide allowance for the fact that he is acting on information we do not have. On the other hand, I do not trust the people who convey such information to be honest all of the time.
Rarely do our large, long-term interventions overseas these days produce much fruit, certainly not commensurate with the blood and treasure and political capital both domestic and world-wide that it costs.
Osama bin Ladin was Sunni.
The U.S. supplied Iraq throughout their 1980s war with Iran, which cost Iran several hundred thousand deaths.
I'd say the U.S. more than paid back Iran for the 1979 hostage crisis. Long past time to make peace with Iran as we did with Vietnam.
And long past time to declare our neutrality in the Mideast, no longer supporting any nation in the region.
you have a cool level of delusion re: Iran and its Twelver oppressors.
More like Senate RINOs are to blame for the SAVE act being mired down. There’s lots of money in being a stinkin RINO in the RINO donor / lobbyist / doing donors favors Nexuxs. Follow the money.
Good Lord, Man. Your reading comprehension is severely lacking. A slur is using an incorrect definition of a word to describe someone the definition does not fit. If you are not a former liberal democrat that is also an anti-communist you are not a neo-con. A Conservative that is an interventionist hawk in foreign policy can be called a hawk, militarist or war monger but he isn’t a neo-con. The Russians, Chinese, North Koreans and Iranian Mullahs are our enemies and half-wits like you use the term neo-con to slur anyone of whatever political persuasion that opposes our enemies. You listed a bunch of liberals and most of them would never be considered neo-cons. They are not “New Conservatives” now and have never been. Really? Barack Obama a neo-con?
Neocons = Jews in the Libertarian lexicon.
That picture proves nothing, no matter how many times you post it.
I’ll suspect you’d be singing a different tune if that was, say, Hunter Biden in that photo.
One grift was Affinity Partners and PIF as Trump was leaving his first term; come on now, Kushner is one of Mohammed bin Salman boy toys.
“Define ‘Neocon’.
It is often used as a pejorative term on FreeRepublic. It seems to mean hawks who advocate wars abroad. There’s a hint that these hawks are Jewish.
I have The Essential Neoconservative reader, though I never read it. It’s 496 pages and was published in 1996 before Neocon became a negative term. The authors examine numerous topics beside foreign affairs. From their names, I assume that some are Jewish, others not.
One review:
During the 30 years between Kennedy and Gingrich, the political world witnessed the evolution and proliferation of a new political species: the neoconservatives. Strangers to the older conservatism of patrimony and tradition, neoconservatives are (with a few exceptions) liberals who have broken ranks, turning against a liberal orthodoxy that they find increasingly deceptive. Thus, it was mostly his fellow liberals that Norman Podhoretz offended with his famous 1963 essay “My Negro Problem—and Ours.” Since the 1960s, numerous writers (including Nathan Glazer, Irving Kristol, Michael Novak, Jean Kirkpatrick, Richard John Neuhaus, Patrick Moynihan, and Thomas Sowell) have joined in the neoconservative ranks ...
Look at who he bombed. He was a wartime president. The Propaganda Media downplayed it because Obama was doing the bidding of the neocons, not Americans.
The Neoconservatives are Trotskyist academics - Marxist and a Bolshevik–Leninist. Bill Ayers was the "The New Left". Obama left him for the neocons.
Our?
We still do business with Russia and China. Our economy is running on production from China. That's not an enemy.
We do business with North Korea through China with a nod and wink. Iran had been shipping oil to all of our allies.
Thank you for gracing us with your presence.
You can call me a half-wit but not a liar. You can regurgitate propaganda all you like but neocons are leftists posing as supporters of conservatism for their own gains.
Libertarians talk about the Neocons but generally it’s a dog whistle for Jews.
