Major League Baseball's new-look "Opening Night" has come and gone. The Yankees throttled the Giants, 7-0. Aaron Judge struck out four times. Max Fried was unhittable. Tony Vitello probably misses Knoxville at the moment.
You know, usual opening night stuff for MLB.
The big story around Wednesday, though? Netflix. This was the streaming giant's foray into baseball, and buddy, it was a rocky little ride. Now, that's to be expected. There were always going to be bumps in the road, and there were several here.
Elle Duncan was insufferable and didn't know what home plate was. Seems like a problem for an MLB pregame show.
I'm not quite sure what the point of Jameis Winston was.

Ah, this might explain a lot. From January...
Hollyweird’s crap sandwiches aren’t selling like they used to, are they.
We dumped Netflix years ago.
I won’t watch anything they produce.
On any format.
Will AI be the death of Netflix...?
Elle Duncan is the worst of the worst. An arrogant, entitled leftist who was insufferable when she was on ESPN...I can’t believe some idiot decided it was a good idea to make her the face of Netflix sports.
Agree, that's inexcusable.
There’s a reason they don’t want to be on broadcast television for the masses.
The most popular syndicated shows are three game shows each over 50 years old. Yes, they produce 195-230 episodes per season of new games, but it’s watching a new generation play the same games, with the game play that’s been around for such a long time.
I have watched him and a few others that do the same thing.
My wife loved the books and was glad to hear they were going to be a series till she tried to watch the first episode. Utter trash is what she said and turned it off after 10 minutes.
She sounds perfect for Netflix.
Why? Just why? They are fixing things that don’t need fixing.
These are the guys that wanted to buy Warner Bros. Discovery.
Mid-late 1800s of New Orleans
Black Freemen.
Nutflax? Never watch ‘em.
You’ll be the perfect one to comment on what I think I saw on a TV at the gym last week.. Appeared to be indoor virtual golf. Dude was hitting what looked like a real golf ball at a movie screen in a building of some sort. A computer would predict the trajectory and final placement of the virtual golf ball. Then he’d step to a rougher piece of grass and hit another ball at a different image on the movie screen.
Is this a thing?
Susan Rice & Netflix compete against CBS-Paramount and David Ellison, a Trump friend.
These 2 are still in the first inning. How will this media game turnout? Who will win?
I love watching the slow motion stuff from modern NBA games where the players take live 5 and six steps after the dribble...or openly carry the ball when they dribble....just basic stuff that the ref would be choking on his whistle if he saw in any high school game.
NBA is useless to me too.
Next to PGA and MLB I watch PBR, Rugby, Archery, and Cricket.
From Fox Sports today:
“Further, streamers like Netflix and YouTube have turned broadcasts into hours-long infomercials for their other products, often treating the game as a mere marketing tool.”
Whoa. The whole point is to get people into purchasing the service’s latest X-rated shows on television. That’s it. I’m not interested in a 4-hour infomercial for whatever regietheater is being pushed.
