So, who is Emily Gregory, and how did she win in Trump’s backyard? In a surprising result, Democrat Emily Gregory won a special election in Florida’s House District 87, flipping a seat long held by Republicans. The district notably includes Mar-a-Lago, the private residence of US President Donald Trump, making the victory symbolically significant in national politics.
Running for public office for the first time, Gregory built her campaign around one central message: affordability.
She addressed rising concerns among voters about housing costs, healthcare expenses, insurance premiums, and everyday necessities. Rather than making Trump the focal point of her campaign, Gregory emphasised local issues and the needs of her constituents. She said that while Trump is a resident of the district, her priority is representing all voters across the constituency. This approach appears to have resonated with voters who are increasingly concerned about economic pressures and quality-of-life issues.
Gregory holds a degree in Health and Exercise Science and a Master of Public Health in Health Policy and Management. In addition to her public service experience, she is also a small business owner.
For the past several years, she has led a maternal fitness organization focused on supporting pregnant and postpartum women through accessible community programs.
She is also an Army spouse. Her husband, Andrew Gregory, serves as a Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army. The couple has three children, and Gregory has often highlighted her family life as a key part of her identity and motivation for public service.

Yes.
It sets up a perfect opportunity to run a good looking DINO. Small business owner in Florida? Perhaps.

So, what can a state representative do to overcome the laws and forces of economics? Oops, nothing. They can’t/won’t, and have no intention of reducing real “costs”.
When Democrat/Socialist politicians say “affordable”, Dem/Soc voters hear “I’ll pay less The government will coerce rich people and corporations to subsidize the price of what I’d like to consume.” Democrat voters are fine with that — after all, it’s a form of theft.
Republican politicians must make it clear when their opponents promise communist schemes that never work. Just like the Dems brought us Affordable Health Care by naming their coercive law that.
BTW, afforability, or the lack of it, was purposely taken away by the Democrats & their cohorts the RINOs. Which means ieven is she really is operating under that dellsuion, that she doesn't even begin to see the solution to the proplem, because she haSN'T PROPERLY PINPOINTED WHERE THE PROBLEM CAME FROM IN THE FIRST PLACE.
“Running for public office for the first time, Gregory built her campaign around one central message: affordability.”
Lots of democrats are running with the message “affordability” these days. But theres NO SUCH THING as democrats delivering on lowering the costs of living. Ever.
Democrats may talk a good game about being the biggest supporters, defenders, and protectors of the poor and middle class. But give democrats the reins of power over a city or state and they make it much too expensive to live and survive for everyone except the rich and wealthy.
The top most expensive cities in the US to live in are all controlled by democrats. DC, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Berkeley, Seattle, Boston, Denver, Chicago, Hartford, Austin, etc.
How many votes were cast in that race?
