Iran has agreed to never have nuclear weapons, President Donald Trump said Thursday, signaling that Tehran has met a key U.S. demand to help end the war.
The conflict has raised global concerns over nuclear proliferation, as Iran’s nuclear program has been a central issue for the president.
“They’ve agreed,” he said. “They will never have a nuclear weapon. They’ve agreed to that.” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office.

Because the people wanting it for the most part either expect to make money from it, are old and don’t seem to give a shit about their grandchildren growing up in a country drowning in debt, or they simply know they aren’t actually putting themselves at any risk

There is a lot more at stake than NO Nukes. Eliminating the existing Government in Iran should be NUMBER 1.
I love what President Trump is doing to keep us safe, but he has never seemed to be interested in addressing the spiraling national debt. DOGE cut only a miniscule amount of money printing.
I know that Congress is the real villain here but the president could use his bully pulpit to get the ball rolling.
The debt will kill us before Iran does.
Sorry but do not actually believe that there have been any talks. Just think that Trump is using a ploy to extract from this inconclusive war that failed in its goals of a regime change or securing the enriched uranium.

I’m almost picturing this like a comedy skit, where some state department flunkie just googles “Iran” and dials the first phone number that pops up and this whole time they’ve been “negotiating” with like a maintenance guy in some random government department.

Our "representatives" in Congress have no intention of cutting government spending in any amount. And they know full well that if they did have such intentions and acted on them, they would never be re-elected. Their sponsors would make sure of that.
The best we can expect is that certain factions of the sponsors will try to cut funding for organizations controlled by their opponents.
