As the search for Nancy Guthrie hit its 50th day Sunday, leaving the local sheriff desperate and humiliated, a legendary cold-case detective insisted to The Post that the case is still ripe with potential leads.
“Nancy’s case is still very fresh,” said Brian Martin, the crack detective from Fort Payne, Ind., who helped catch the killer of 8-year-old April Tinsley almost 30 years after her murder.
Martin said he is optimistic that law enforcement will track down the abductor of the 84-year-old mom of “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie, after Nancy vanished with nary a trace from her home near Tucson, Ariz., on Feb. 1.

Ft. Payne??
They knew who she was...it was NOT a robbery...
But if they kidnapped her for ransom, why didn’t they try to get it?
They did...there were several ransom communications...pay attention...ever heard of TMZ??
She has been killed to prevent her testimony in a billion dollar scam or she is in witness protection.....
I thought the ransom notes were debunked, as in not from the real kidnappers. Id they were really, why didn’t the daughter pay them?
“ leaving the local sheriff desperate and humiliated,”
If only he had another star on his collar, then he could solve it! /S
Agree-simple motive-fancy neighborhood full of rich people that any 2 or more amateur criminals would find attractive, especially if they were observant and working nearby-they don’t have to be with the cartels-or intelligent.
Watch a few houses to see who appears to live alone, pick a time not many people are around, disguise yourself, get yourself and your partner into the house one way or another. Grab and restrain the occupant, try to get her bank info, etc first thing.
I think that is where it went south, if someone was hitting/choking the woman for bank info, etc-they accidentally killed her. So they carried her body out, went into the desert and buried her, then maybe tried to get ransom anyway from the relatives-no cartel, no conspiracy, etc, etc-just a theft/kidnapping that turned into murder. Seems obvious...
I was thinking maybe it should be Ft Wayne?
I honestly haven’t tried to get any purported psychic news such as from people on Coast to Coast am.
I saw one discussion site where a guy a month ago said the abductors drove 2 hours after a left turn past the home. Nancy’s eyes were covered and she was taken into a basement but she heard 4-5 men speaking a “foreign language”. She was weak.
In the past these alleged psychics have off and on provided help. Did no good those crucial first hours. Now it’s just to find the body and the trail of the killers.
I heard a blood spatter expert say that she did not walk out. Because the spatters were continuous, without gaps that would be caused by her feet is she were walking, he determined that she was carried out. I can’t recall if he said she was wrapped in something.
splatter
Zackly.
Mark Kelly is a cheerleader for the devil.
He is an evil son of a bitch and should be facing a firing squad if there was true Justice amongst us!
I think you could be right.
The kidnappers were near water.
I agree hes an evil sack of crap, but he also has a lot of muscle in that state so I think he told the sheriff also a fellow Dem to not look at the family
RE: The kidnappers were near water.
Can’t remember which show (maybe Criminal Minds?) but the doubting agent or detective disregarded the psychic who talked about the abducted person being able to see hard lashing waves against the rocks. At the end the room shade was pulled over in the room where the hostage was held and they could see a big painted advertisement on the brick building next door-—of hard lashing waves against rocks.
Cartel paying Kelly and L.E. could explain some of this.
